Dear Steam...

I didn't listen to all the folks out at MMORPG.com that called you the Devil.  What the heck?  Might as well download a couple games, save some money, and have it all download in the background.  Loved how I could get Alpha Protocol for $2.00.

But, with these huge download packages you've been adding to your client, I'm starting not to like you very much.  Do you even know how hard it is to have this stream to all your users, concurrently, just so they can play their games?  The last two times you did it, I had to wait a week before your updates...well...updated.  You all make me feel as if it's my fault I can't sucessfully update your client.

So now I have to wait...wait until someone, somewhere gets their act together and sends a streaming update that will actually finish what it started.  In the meantime, I have to make due with the shovelware I bought at Office Depot for $5.00 in the checkout asile.

Jewel Quest IV, anyone?

I try to use GOG whenever possible, but they don't carry near the games that Steam does.

What really bothers me is Steam's support is non support,it's liek they don't even listen to what you are saying.exampleTheir shell program that runs with all their games can cause conflicts with certain games, such as the editor in ut99 for example.I tried over and over to get through to them, they keep saying, try the game manufacturer for support.I keep telling them the support has nothing to do with any game or game bugs,it is the shell program causing the problem. They just hit auto repeat and say try support form manufacturer.

of course i want to blow them up and burn them, but i had to do with saying screw it and buy a copy soemwhere else.of course with the 5-10 copies i have owned over the years, never a problem aside from worn out disks,ONLY problems running games through Steam.

There is suppose to be ways to disable that lame shell, but i couldn't find the answers.

However most of the time,it all works and their prices are great and the free storage is also great.

Jewel Quest is better than Alpha Protocol

I agree. I've never had a single issue as well nor has anyone I personally know that uses the service. It's funny how only certain people seem to have issues with Steam. I would say it has more to do with their system setup than Steam itself as if it were an actual issue with the Steam client it would effect everyone and not just a select few. I really don't see how Steam is at fault if their system isn't set up properly or is just too out of date.

Steam is like WoW...it's the thing everyone loves to hate.

I'm pretty happy with the 70+ games I was able to purchase dirt cheap.

i use Steam a lot and have always enjoyed the experience but for the last couple of weeks it has been sooo slow. I start Steam and it takes 5-10+minutes for the store page to load or  any page for that matter. Anyone else?

I think you might need to get a proper internet connection then..

I have never had any issues with steam myself. I am based in the UK and have used steam since launch without any issues. Sorry I did once but it was not really steams fault.. at one of the sumemr i series LANs here in te UK the servers local to that area got a bit busy 1000s of people connecting and downloading for the same location... but we just had to change it manaually in steam to another location and pop it worked fine.

Downlaod speeds are super fast, updates for the client are pretty small and updates really fast as well... Gigantic slection of games at awesome prices..

Steam is probally the best thing to happen to PC gaming for a very very long time.. without steam i would not have even seen half the games I have on there..

Anyone who see4s steam as a bad thing is well.. ODD.. and ill leave it as that.
