My employer wouldn't be any more OK with a computer game site than he would a soft core porn site....actually he probably would laugh at the latter and then get pissed about me not working, instead of just getting pissed right away.
It's been said over and over but there really is something wrong with people who think a violent game is ok and an overly sexulized game is wrong and perverted. The world would be a better place if we were a bit more "perverted" and a lot less desensitzed to violence.

its an mmorpg and as such theres nothing wrong with it being announced on the site just like every other mmorpg that comes out. I would agree with you if it as a pornographic game. But it isnt. You dont like it and theres nothing wrong with that, but thats not a reason to not show it on any general mmorpg site.
EDIT: i use adblock because most ads here now tend to pop up over the articles and i cant read them, my answer goes to the background image.
Did you read his next post? He stated he worked in tech support, so he's not always busy. Not all of our jobs require us to be busy the entire time we are working.
yeah i dont know why isnt he working instead of browsing mmos at work. Obviosly it isnt at break time that he is worried about being caught.

Before you knew this wasn't a pornographic game, looking at the ad pictures, and wording, would definetely give that idea. Which is the point of it all. The normal users here know it's all fake, but the issue is with others who are with us, pass by our monitors at home or work. THEY certainly see it as pornographic, and for good reason. This is a MMO news source, as far as i know, and news outlets dont usually sponsor pornographic material

Yet again people think that because they individually do not have a problem with an ad, that nobody else would be in a situation where the ad's content would be embarassing or disapproved.
Here's a tip - do kids who come to this site to look at ToonTown or Wizard101 need to be seeing these images?
People are so self centered they become incapable of realizing the potential bad points of these ads for people other than themselves. It's very sad.

You do realize that many studies are being published finding that employees are more productive when they are given breaks, leisure time, and freedom, right? Google's offices look something like: this. They might know a thing or two about running a successful business.

as far as i know, if people know these outlets dont usually sponsor pornographic material then they can be smart enough to realise those images arent porn material on a gaming news site. But, i get your point, and the best solution is, dont browse that specific site while at work. They are doing their job announcing new mmorpgs and wont stop for some people that cant see those pictures at work. At home its easier because its your family and you can make it clear to them what type of content that is and whether or not your interested in that game. But its not you or me on the line here, they are doing their job. When this game jumps to the backseat then other upcoming mmo will be on the headlines. THats just how it works.
yes and i posted on that a while ago. But the breaks arent just free time, it involves excersice and other recreative and relaxing activities to increase your performance, physically and mentally.
Browsing websites where I read about games I enjoy playing is relaxing to me, and others I'm sure. I'm sure other people enjoy reading websites on a break.
you are free to do it. Dont like the ads? use adblock at work. Simple enough?
Are we to have middle school aged children install adblock prior to coming to this site to counter the ads as well? After all, ages 13 and up can come to this site without parental permission, though I bet some parents would not like seeing their kids on this site at first glance with these ads running. Children under 13 can come here with permission of course, though I'm not sure how long the parent would let their kid stay on the site with these ads running either.

I wouldn't mind these Scarlet Blade advertisements... except for the fact that I don't live alone. Here I am typing a response on my favorite forum and BOOM here are some penis grabbing advertisements asking me about my desire and whether or not I might want to play with sexy girls. This one's even pretty bad with two graphical butts and naked backsides staring me in the face.
I don't even mind them calling themselves the "best" anything because honestly every single MMO out there calls themselves the most anticipated title of 2013.
I just find it a little bad that because of these advertisements MMORPG.com is now rated M for mature
