Great! I hope that CSE still gives you an inn; like I said elsewhere, I think that package should allow the choice of an island or inn, too.
They said the Inn still stands! Mark has been massively responsive with a ton of my questions. It is after all a large sum of money for me. He addressed a ton of my concerns. If it funds it will ship.

Happy to hear that you will still get your inn.
Ya that's awesome that they are letting you keep the Inn.

Hi Nation,
How are you doing man? Hope you still remember me Infuzor IB..
Nice to see familiar faces here and hope to see ya in CU.
..however, I'm not sure that upgrading will bring much of an advantage. As MJ said there are other backers waiting in the sidelines, so it's probably more the number of backers in total which will be relevant for their decision on the longtime viability of the game.

I'm somewhat worried at the numbers so far. I was thinking perhaps the limited edition tiers weren't limited enough. 5000 person limit and we don't even have 5000 backers TOTAL for the first 2 days. Limited edition should be sold out by now imo. But perhaps it will pay off later on this month and people will flock to get the last spots.
This kickstarter really does prove gamers learn absolutely nothing from the past. It's foolish to buy a game before it is released, let alone, before it's made!
Well, today's update took a little long than it was supposed to but I think you'll find it well worth your time to watch the video, especially the part where Andrew starts showing off his intellectual and programming prowess again. From yours truly, the highlights are:
Ding Gratz on the 750K and our 2nd Dragonwhale sighting,
Update to 10K tier (it now includes choice of 1 of the 5k tiers). As per the video, our current inn/island owners retain their current positions in the queue no matter when the Dragonwhales landed.
Guild name reservation is coming soon to the Founder's exchange.
Later today we will be showing the first 3D model (rigged, animated, etc.) for the Tuatha Dé Danann. After Andrew's next fabulous piece (you should really, really watch the video), you'll find a surprise waiting for you.
And here's Andrew (cue Tonight Show music)...
Andrew here. I strongly believe that in-game interfaces and out-of-game interfaces are long overdue for a convergence. Camelot Unchained is launching in 2015, our world is a connected place, and there’s no reason your access to an online world needs to be confined to a desktop computer. With the right choices, not only can we make things better and faster in-game, we can open Camelot Unchained up to a much larger community of modders and make some amazing mashups possible.
That’s why we’re building a web browser directly into our standalone 3D rendering engine (not the other way around), and building our entire interface out of HTML and JavaScript. We’re building a public web API as the first and only entry point to game data, so everything we make in-game can run out-of-game in any web browser, anywhere. That means that instead of being an arcane art, our UI is now a standard thing that anyone who’s put together a standard web page already knows how to hack and mod. That means that programmers with creative ideas can make their own standalo front ends to the out-of-game data, to combine and present it in ways we’ve never thought of.
If you’re interested in all the details, or just concerned about how this might shake up , I’ve got an article up at http://camelotunchained.com/en/making-a-game-out-of-the-web. This is major stuff, so I hope you’ll take the time to check it out.

I think the problem is that you are buying the exact same MMO over and over, thinking you'll get something different. CU isn't from the same cookie-cutter mold that all the recent top-shelf MMOs have come from.

You really can't claim that's true, there is still too much about CU that we don't know.

Great start on the Kickstarter, but I am sure they can always use more momentum. Press those guildies to stop complaining about what's wrong with modern day MMO's and put some cash up to make something that stands out.

We know enough to claim that is true, unless you wish to question whether CSE is being honest, which is a whole separate thread.
We know the game is not going to be based on rewarding PvE with levels and loot. We know the game is going to revolve around RvR and the ongoing conflict between the realms. We know that crafters and builders will play large roles and be fully fleshed out and essential to the conflict. We know the UI is going to be the most advanced UI in an MMORPG, ever, as it is based on the Web and ties directly into it in a bi-directional manner.
Those things alone set Camelot Unchained apart. I will agree we do not know how well they will pull it all off, but they are at least attempting something different. Look at WildStar for an example of a game with a lot of hype that is doing very little different.

Noone else is making any new RvR games because the genre doesn't attract the mass audience that wannabe blizzard devs crave so it's no surprise that those people who love these kind of games are willing to help make it happen. The alternative doesn't bear thinking about. Whatever mistakes happened in his previous games god bless Mark Jacobs for continuing with this type of game because right now he's the only one.
I'm concerned that the Kickstarter hasn't passed $1 million yet. Most of the donations from here on out are going to be small ones ($25-50). It's going to be tough to get another $1.2 million from small donors. No doubt at the very end some of us early adopters will increase our donations too. Still things look iffy. I think it would really help if Mark released a lot more details such as lists of classes and races and more detailed information on progression and skills and everything else. No doubt he plans to do some of this over the course of the next month, but it might be better to get it all out early so the game seems like more than a bunch of vague Foundational Principles and a few videos that aren't even of the actual game to people who are just hearing about it for the first time after the Kickstarter began.
