LOL dont get me wrong i backed the game but some people have way too much cash to waste haha.
I'm gonna laugh my ass off when all these people who donate money start nerd raging when the final product released and it doesn't live up to their expectations. Sorry but as intriguing as the game sounds I will never beleive any "promise" or "vision" of an MMO since time and time again all these promises and visions fall flat on their face. MMOs NEVER like up to expectations.
You sound like a cool guy, can we be friends? lol
I guess it depends how you set your expecations.
For instance - although admittedly not for a long time, just a few months - I enjoyed playing WAR, even.
If I can have fun with that, I can certainly have fun with this.
LOL given that is it's only goal, and one of it's foundation principles, I'd be pretty surprised to find out it can't. Worth the risk
they're probably dreading it for just that reason lol
Lol, well, since he managed it in Warhammer (which my wife and I had fun with despite its detractors) and in DAoC, I think it's not too far off base to think he can repeat it in a game where that is his primary focus. I think your reasoning is pretty sound. But maybe I just have lowered expectations after this many years as a MMORPGER hah.
I look at it this way:
If a developer with this kind of a player feedback focus, this strong of a vision, and a community-based funding strategy can't put something together that meets expectations, then it will never happen. But this is the type of software company I wish I was working for, because I believe they can make it happen. I've put in basically all I can risk to make sure that it does. If I had $10k of income to throw around on a hobby, I would still do it.
Even if CU doesn't seem like it is the type of game you would like to play, it might be worth the $25 level to try it out in the future. The *most* important thing to me is that the development model succeeds, because that paves the way for other games with other niche's to follow along.
