Ready some popcorns because the next few weeks, this forum will be exploding with intense rage you have ever seen.

Can you imagine the steam forums when they get in and they realize how much was left out....  I also cannot wait for eurogamer review where they give a spot on review and do not fluff it up like RipperX, lol

Let's get Ed Zitron to review DarkFall Unholy Wars. That would be entertaining to watch.

People play this game for the clan warfare, city seiges and city ownership and the high risk pvp.

All of that is still in game.  Its not ready because its missing a few NPC cities and some pve fluff, and the character modles are still place holders ect.

Will take AV ages to get all that out they are snails.  Most could care less though.

I know people say launch is the best time to play DF since it will have the highest population, highest frequency of noob pvp, and a lot of seiges with no set power clans already dominating.

Not sure if ill be there for launch despite i have that free month, theres no difficult progression so i can jump in any time and be combat ready in a few weeks.  I was certainly in the mood for DF back in december but now im a bit occupied with other stuff, and even with easy progression the game requires a bit more devotion than i can give, i figure i would probably have to miss a lot of seiges ect if i jumped in now.

Anyone interested in pvp with risk, pve with risk, and clan warfare that is really a blast and involves a great meta game...this is a game you probably dont want to miss, and its cheap too.  Even with all the stuff missing, the core reason to play is going to be there.  I suggest you get in at launch and get into a clan asap...if you plan on playing at least.

Of course, I don't know if any other game that fits those criteria either. That's the sad state of the game scene, especially for mmorpgs it seems.

However, just because a game is not totally polished does not mean that it won't be worth the money. Skyrim was as buggy as fetch, but I still loved playing it, as did millions of other people. I think DFUO is complete enough to have lots of fun when it releases.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't DFUO cost $30.00 until the 12th, including a month of game time? I think after that it goes up to $40.

I beleive even Tasos admits it is not ready but they NEED to get it out now and he stated this awhile back becuase players won't wait forever.

I do agree that the state of game releases across the board has been atrocious, nobody is respecting the customer.I do give credit to Tasos though because he does not seem to be trying to fool anyone,he seems like a straight up guy.

I would support this game but i simply do not have the time,i have to pick and choose and i have sort of chosen Wildstar and Archeage to be my next two games. If i didn't have those to rely on ,i would probably give this gaem a shot for awhile,i did play DF1 for about a month.

Basically, everything I read has told me that a.) the game isn't ready for release and won't be for several months; and b) since I'm a casual player due to real life responsibilities and time commitments, I won't be able to progress fast enough or find a good clan in order to enjoy the majority of the game.

So I guess I'm going to pass on DF:UW, just like I did on DF. I'll wait until there's a trial. Thanks everyone for helping deter people away from this game. Last thing I wanted to do was spend another $50+ on a game I'll only play a few days.

P.S.- I just want to clarify. I don't require fast progression in a game. I played DAoC in its prime and I liked how long it took me to get my first maxed out character. I love grouping up to progress, but I'd be forced to solo 4 days out of the week due to long night shifts and only getting 2 hours of playtime after work...between 5am-7am EST.

    Good choice.

The game is FAR from ready. I would say about 1 more year at the pace AV has been doing things.

The game is lacking in so many ways. I was just running around in game a few minutes ago and it is such a piece of crap. How the hell can AV actually try to pass this off as a finished product?

The hype for this game is at an all time low, It won't last very long. Sure the first 30days might be fun enough with players trying to get the most out of it since they just wasted/spent money buying it. But after that... I dont see much of a population sticking around.

    /game over AV

Its lacking in ways that most people who care about sieges, clan politics, FFA PvP, and full loot do not care about

Yeah, most of the missing things many players (arguably most of population) wouldn't touch for months, if ever.

possibly, but i'd narrow it down to just 'some people who care about those things. It still leaves a fair amount of gameplay open to question though. Darkfall was one of those games that always had the potential to be successful, but it never achieved anything, it has always been a case of implementation falling short of requirements, and even though DF;UW has been pushed back quite a bit, its still looks like it has a bad case of 'too soon' or 'not yet working as intended' and while some people will accept anything, if DF;UW is going to overcome its past, then moving forward they are going to have to deal with these issues rather than paper over them, or by the sound of it, ignore it until 'later'. The first Darkfall was dogged with issues, some of them, unfortunately, are still there. AV have to get it right this time, as there will not be a 3rd chance.image

LOL - and that is all the first game was and failed.  This is a more dumbed down version of that game with less content/PvE fluff to do - that is why a recipe for disaster....
