in the time i have spent with beta i have yet to see a single reason why mounts are in the game...are there bigger areas later in the game im not seeing?was debating getting a founder pack but the big draw is the mount..trying to justify this.

yes they are several larger areas but hell just getting around neverwinter its nice to have a horse.. but honestly i'd say overalll they are not "needed" but nice to have i guess.. I'm sure people would complain if there were no mounts even if they aren't really needed :P
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

You don't really need one until level 30, when you start venturing outside the city and into some really big, explorable zones (like Pirates Skyhold).
Don't think you get your mount until level 20 anyways.
Yea all the 30+ zones rival the size and scope of GW2 if that gives you any indication.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!
