I am horrible with technology and have no idea why I even have this damn rig. Essentially have a gaming laptop (haha) that I got dirt cheap and I can run most games pretty well. I am looking to invest time into an MMO that I can run at higher settings because I hate looking at TSW on only medium.
My specs:
Nvidia GeForce 660m 2GB
8gb ddr3 RAM
Intel core i7 2.3 ghz
Guess that is all I need to post.
Thank you all so much

played a million mmo's
Yes it'll run, but the beta was horribly optimised and higher settings might be a problem in group PvP.
Worthless site,...Meeting minimum system specs and the game being playable are two different things,
The laptop has issues runing MMOs for some odd reason. I can play Dead Space 2 on nearly all high settings but a simple game like SWTOR lags horribly with shadows. Always seemed odd to me.
But yeah I have heard random comments on optimisation and I guess that is why I was asking people. Was unsure if others out there played with laptops or lower rigs.
reread the original post and think of a better response.

You're having issues because you're horrible with technology. Yes you should be able to run it much like me without a slightest problem but due to darkfalls horrible optimization... who knows.
To improve all games on your laptop though make sure you're on "High Performance" under battery and go to laptopvideo2go and download the latest nvidia drivers, follow the instructions, take your time don't rush and then enjoy an unrestricted decently performing desktop gtx 650. Cause that's basically how mobile gpu's work they're equivilant to the tier under on desktop when unlocked.
Yawn...You are aware that recommended specs are often BS and yield a game thats often unplayable?
He does not.
I have an e8400 dual core 3ghz over clocked to 3.2, 8 gigs of ddr2 ram, ssd drive, gtx 460 se and get 30 fps in cities at 1080 p res with most thing cranked in game. I imagine large sieges will be unplayable for me as it is time for an upgrade.
edit: saw the autocorrect on ssd drive was sad drive...lol
Been time to upgrade for 5 years. Your processor is the main bottleneck for this title.
Throwing hardware at DFUW doesnt really help. (I5@4.5,GTX680,SSD,16GB) Still major load lag and framerate is all over the place.
Still unsure haha. I will probably wait for tomorrow and hope someone updates this thread with information about how everything is going.
I kind of hope I can run this game on high settings with good FPS even in PVP. Really need an MMO to play for the long term.
I got the latest drivers from the Nvidia website. Unsure what you mean by "unlocked"
I think Nvidia got better about releasing higher quality drivers but the problem is they restrict the core clocks to maximize battery life and temp. The problem is they restrict it too much vastly weakening the gpu itself. I've used gaming laptops since 2007 or so and the difference between unlocked drivers and locked drivers is greatly noticable. At the end of the day... this is just advice from experience and knowledge... you can do whatever you want.
Interesting. Would love some more tips to unlock my GPU's full potential. So you are saying I should go to another website to utitlize my graphics card more???
The actual site I listed "Laptopvideo2go" is an actual Nvidia palace for unlocked drivers. You don't need to overclock, there's no chance of ruining your laptop or frying your mobo unless your fans don't work which you would of noticed by now by it shutting down anytime you play a game. So you're home free, check the latest drivers out, install and enjoy better performance for the nice laptop you have.
Going to test this out. I have overclocked this GPU before and barely noticed a difference. Maybe I did something wrong. I just used EVGA precision.
Is this better then using those programs?
haha sorry for all the questions! be free to PM any other advice dude.
I'll try explain this, You have a GTX 660m which ideally is an OC desktop GTX 650, It's not quite a 660 but should run at or better than the tier under the desktop equivilant... for instance at GTX 680 is merely a overlocked 670 (Desktop) model, assuming that makes sense we'll move forward. Now due to the small bodies of laptops and tight confinements they lower the clock speeds to reduce heat and increase battery life. The site I offered, provides drivers that remove those restrictions not by over clocking but by unlocking the cards shackles and allowing it to run at it's manufactured performance. I have used drivers from the site for ever now and have only installed 1 or 2 bad drivers the rest greatly improved my performance . I think it'll help you out in gaming in general. Also by owning a laptop you can resolve most graphical lag simply by lowering or turning off shadows... also if you're running max resolution don't worry about using AA as that's more important for smaller resolutions. Enjoy.
Seems to make sense to me. I just can't seem to even navigate that archaic site. Can't find the latest drivers haha.
Hell directions even how to install them are difficult.
Maybe I am just drunk.
