Ok who is really suprised? This is so hilarious because you know people bought into the$200 crap they were offering. Mmorpgs dont put feathers in thier cap they put fails in. Gosh this is just amazingly laughable all these wow haters just looking looking looking is this it? Is this game it? I think this is it, here's $200 lol
I think before Susie made the call to saddle up, she should have made sure the saddle was on the horse. Two and half hours later, still can't log in. Not saying I'm not going to play, but I'm not playing at the moment and I'm not going to spend all day waiting to play. Going to watch a little Champions League and come back later. Here's hoping Real Madrid can pull it off.
You can get on now, but there is a 4-8 second lag between action and reaction in game right now... ie my trickter attacks a target but it doesn't show the affect for 4-8 seconds after the attack, and if the target attacks back I have to wait to see what happens which tends to negate half of my swing attacks since he has knocked me back and I don't evenknow it yet.
Hope they fix the lag soon as it makes the game almost unplayable...

I have no intention of leaving any bshing remarks. This happens to all MMO's on opening day, and some for even longer. Anyone who bashes it for having a few bugs during open beta isnt realistc.
The key difference here is, it's not a new launch for Cryptic.
All their games run on the same infrastructure. All use the same Front End (Login servers) and back end.
Hence, why ALL their games are inaccessable now. CO, STO and NW.
There's not a difference here when considering just about all opening hours of an open beta ever...

wow, what are all of you, 12? This your first MMO that you have ever played? There is not a single MMO I can think of that didnt have problems on the first day going all the way back to Ultima Online. This is also just Open Beta. Yes alot of you will say its a completed product, but its still just OB and a true Stress Test of the game with how many people are trying to get in. Just relax, remember everything doesnt revolve around you, take a smoke break, go eat lunch or dinner, and then come back when you are actually ready to give this game an honest chance.
So their having problems on free launch day ! Who cares game is still going to be there tomorrow and it plays fine so far. Looking forward to many hours of fun fun fun.

Really no excuse for this anymore
has nothing to do with excuses the tech at a reasonable price just isn't feasble for any gaming company to have servers that support that many people flooding servers when you have a very high interest game.. you could do what swtor and just have a buttload of servers(but even then they had issues) but then obviously you would need to start merging them as population settles
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg

Not expecting a large turnout day one is what there is no excuse for. I can understand WoW's case, because no one could expect that massive response. But a f2p MMO based off a popular IP...they had to know people would be coming.
Not saying at all that queues and server issues arent going to happen, but they shouldnt really be blindsided by them.
20 thousand person queues that don't budge....rubber banding like crazy. This is what happens when everybody talks crap about a game months prior to launch and then decides to play at the last minute. 3 servers!? You gotta be kidding! They weren't expecting half of you to play. They need new servers pronto, and a RP server before the RP community randomly declares a server the RP server.

They use Super Server Technology. You know like they already do with CO and STO?
We see actual shard names with Neverwinter, but that was supposed to be temporary and everyone will be able to transfer freely among the shards later on, like with CO and STO.
But this is Cryptic at it's best. They invest in a fixed amount of hardware for a pre-calculated number of concurrent users and that's it!
It gets too full, so they slap their EPIC FAIL queue system in place that doesn't work. It's the same buggy queue system from STO launch years ago. How many years do they need to fix this mess? Just lol!
So yeah.... if Cryptic gave a darn, they should be able to easily expand capacity and reduce it down the road when things settle down, without having to merge "actual" servers.
But as people that fork out 200 bucks can skip the queue (which doesn't even work either right now LOL).... the extreme queue times are a perfect "carrot" mechanism to make people desperate and hope enough fools fall for it and start dropping the 200 bucks.
Oh boy another place to rant for an already failed game. Those poor Guadians whom paid for the game as founder and such. I think about time u guys need to rethink buying anything from PWI.
Raider is a failed game due to stack damage hacks and now Neverwinter server crashed on the first day. ahhahaha
I know it's beta...but companies need to realize that gamers base their opinions on games during beta, ESPECIALLY open beta! To be stuck in a queue that started at 6,000+ and then jumps to 24,000+ randomly is pretty stupid.

I seem to have an oppisite experience than most of you. I looged in at 11:45 Est just to see if I could and got right in. Played for about 2 hours and had 0 issues. I didn't like the game during beta at all as a cleric but I kinda dig the gaurdian. Hopefully I can log in after work and play. If anyone needs someone to play with around midnight eastern on the uhhh 1st shard ??? add moonshine.

Hello all isn't today still part of a beta test.... IE stress testing. Your not there today for your enjoyment. Your there to help them stress test their systems. Get over it.

PWE meets Cryptic. A perfect marriage!

Came in at ~7100. Should 'only' be about another 30 minutes or so. MAYBE be an hour at most. :P
