Threads like this make me laugh. The beauty of the Neverwinter system is the endless content that can be created by users. So you beat cryptic's meh storyline. Go play through all of the foundry content in 3 days, and then come back and talk to us. Or better yet, create some foundry content of your own.
If you were just playing NW for your typical themepark mmo experience. Then yea, you can be finished with it within a week easily. If that is all you were looking for, move on, find another game. If you are able to open your eyes and experience NW for what it really has to offer, then I'm happy to have you playing with me.
I beat Laid of the Mad Dragon twice with a team between 34-36, but we planned everything out and actually talked about what to do, which I died on my first run of that because we just zerged the boss. It's do-able, but challenging.

There's actually something that's quite interesting that I've noticed. While my Guardian fighter is a decent tank there's a combination that you can do with Clerics that make a party almost indestructible. That kind of defeats the purpose of me wanting to continue my character. However, many end game parties are using a double Cleric build in dungeons with 1-2 Control Wizard and 1-2 Trickster Rogues.
We actually had 2 rogues, me (Guardian) one cleric and a wizard. I Kept the dragon on me while running around and whapping it once or twice while one rogue stayed behind him (constant flanking bonus) and the others stayed behind with the adds. Once and awhile me and the DPS rogue would run off to help with the adds but would always run back to focus on dragon. When you have a plan down and can convey it to others, it dispels the challenge and makes it easier and fun.
The game can be fun, but to call it an mmorpg is an insult to the genre (like anyone cares).
Very little work was done in this game. The maps are extremely linear, the progression is absurdly fast, and you're soon doing nothing but running dungeons because that's all there is to do.
The foundry or user generated content, can be somewhat cool, but let's be honest....that's not what the game is about, and even if it were, the idea isn't that fun..

When I finished the game I played through almost every major foundry mission and I see no reason for me to do the really bad ones. Nor do I want to risk being banned for potential exploits that might be contained within many of the foundries that are being produced.
So yes, there's plenty of content as far as player made content. But this means nothing, there's no progression for the customers to continue any further with the game.
I don't like how the editor works currently. The foundry makes story lines that are too linear and aren't very exciting for myself. However, my guild does indeed make and produce some content that I've helped in creating. I'm not looking for a themepark game. I want a game that'll have a lot of character progression whether it be by a large level cap or by gear progression. This game has neither so it's not worth my time investing in it.
I think the foundry is more or less made for people who want to Role Play and convey their own story lines. You can't really belt out decent random stuff unless you are in full control like a DM (or like old NWN that Bioware made where you could go into DM mode) If you are into Role Playing and in a guild that does it, then the foundry will give you HOURS of entertainment. If you are just looking for character progression with just gears and levels, then yea, this game will not help out with it unless you want to make alts.

Really disappointed in this cash grab of a game.
Yeah, it's quite a shame that it wasn't planned out better than this. Because I truly did enjoy the game.
Even if this game was still being published by Atari we might still be getting it. A lot does feel rushed (like how you only get one weapon and no other skin for it, like GF only getting sword and not an axe until you get one from one of the vendors)

I did it... it took me 3 days and 3 hours to play through the game from 1-60 and then fully obtain my characters T2 set. I've essentially beaten the game and there's really not much else to do in it. While the Foundry is a nice side feature it truly does not appeal to me as for additional content.
The combat gameplay within Neverwinter Online is fun and fast paced. As a tank I had a great experience constantly knocking down and knocking back my opponents in PvE and PvP however. Once You get to 60 and do the dungeons (again) there's really not much else to do. The progression is too fast for someone to experience all of the content. I essentially finished the game without even experiencing the 2 final zones. I believe that there will need to be a large addition to the current level cap for the game or drastically reduce the amount of experience you gain while playing.
The gear within the game is very bland and typically you'll have a mix between greens and blues. By the time you get to 40-50 you'll be completely decked out in full blues and if you were lucky enough to find an epic weapon around 38 you'll find that the weapon you found will never be replaced until you're level 60. I'm not joking either. If you run the Gray Wolf Den for example; there are epic pieces of equipment equal to T1 gear at level 60. This greatly hurts the gear progression in the game drastically. Cosmetic appeal for equipment is some what bland. The variety just isn't there. There's about 3-4 different types of armor that you'll see as you progress through the levels and they're all quite similar.
The dungeons are enjoyable. They're not too long and usually run anywhere from 30-45 minutes with a decent team. However, I highly recommend completely skipping the Den of the Mad Dragon in the level range of 30-34. This is due to serious balancing issues with the final boss fight being almost impossible for a well prepared team to tackle. We ended bringing very high level players into the dungeon just to take down the over grown lizard and it was not worth the effort. You'll occasionally have a group that'll struggle with the dungeons however you'll easily be able to complete any other dungeon.
The PvP within Neverwinter with my experience as a Guardian Fighter is quite enjoyable. I built my Guardian with full tank and knockdowns and knock backs. It's like playing an epic ping pong match within these matches. There are some balancing issues and I've occasionally have fallen victim to a rogue dealing almost 30,000 damage to me (my entire life bar). However, for the most part I think many of the classes are some what balanced and only need minor tweaks in their damage. Something I might point out. That if you're an avid PvP Player you'll find that the two arenas do get quite boring after repeating them many times over. By the time I had hit 40 I leveled strictly off of PvP from there on out. This allowed me to completely purchase my entire set of gear by the time I was 60 and instantly equip it. This made me quite unhappy that they'd allow this to be so easily farmed as this gear is essentially on equal terms with T1 Dungeon gear.
The Cash shop is really not worth your time. I played through the entire game in 3 days and was able to obtain enough astral diamonds to afford upgrading my mount completely. I spent 0 dollars on the game and do not see any Pay-to-Win aspects as far as PvE or PvP in this game.
In the end I did enjoy my time playing Neverwinter and it's a good filler while playing the game. However, in my opinion I don't believe there's any longevity that'll come from this game at its current rate. The level grind is too fast and there's truly not much to achieve when you're at max level. The foundry missions are fun even with people putting out some really bad maps. But there's just not enough content within the game to keep the player coming back.
Go head and comment telling me what your experiences with the game were like and I hoped you enjoyed my "little" write up on the game.
You say you beat the game but did not do "everything" in it? How is that actually beating it? I think you like others need to know the definition of an MMO, it does not end. You just catch up with content, nothing more, nothing less.
P.S- You were a "foundry" member. No-one knows how you leveled etc, etc, etc. We have to go by your own word, which does not mean a darn thing. We all know so many were using the exp exploit. I would not be surprised if you used it too. 3 days to max everything? Yeah, I'd believe that in a heartbeat (sarcasm done). Have fun making others believe you actually did this. (I know mods, warning or tempt ban for flaming)

Actually if you do the skirmishes you would have got an axe at level 11 I think it is? The Orc Skirmish drops an Axe of Gruumsh is the name I believe. Green axe but you can always reskin weapons. They sell a lot of those in the AH. You also get a mace from Lair of the Mad Dragon.

I'm not making anyone do anything. I wrote my experience on how I played the game. Take it for what you like. I don't believe I've said I've completed "everything". However, I did experience the majority of the zones. I even stated that I completed the game without fully experiencing the final two zones.
I assumed you meant it facetiously since you can't necessarily "beat" mmos. As kind of a joke/prod. Was I wrong?

Well, I can see how that can be construed as "beating it" given that. I had a GF but I have found it lacking in group play especially given when people have gf companions, as they tend to override my marks and aggro is sort of wonky as it is. Might reroll my CW into a DC and mess around on that. And yeah, I have heard they aren't really that necessary anyways. NWN is really the first game where I haven't enjoyed tanking actually.
