    Hi,

    One simple question:

The game would be translated in Spanish ?

    Thanks in advance :)

Can we look forward to pvp with our actual characters or basic templates like WoW does with profession stuff turned off, certain skills like lay on hands not allowed, etc?

I think a lot of the people bashing flying mounts are coming from WoW where they really did and continue to have a terrible impact on the world. WoW is fundamentally played on a 2D surface and while you move through 3 space going over a hill it's still just a curved surface. When flying mounts were introduced suddenly the entire game was tied to a surface, but players were able to leave that surface and totally circumvent the game world while also allowing the fastest form of

Other alternatives include limited flight (via a gas tank on your speederplane or w/e), mounts unlocked per zone (so that you can be a badass once you've unlocked the main quests, but that might feel too game-y) and more - we actually have a meeting later today to bounce the latest alternatives off of each other.

One thing to keep in mind also is that it takes people out of the game world itself if they're flying above the world. A game feels much more alive when you see everyone running around all around you. It makes a huge difference for not only immersion, but also feeling like you're not the only one playing the game. And from the perspective of a PvPer it's far more fun when people are actually in the game world instead of flying above it. Flying kills any OwPvP on PvP servers.

Something I've been curious about for awhile and maybe it has been covered elsewhere and I've missed it, but how will group loot work? In the videos I've seen mobs drop an explosion of loot and your char vacuums it up. Does everyone have their own loot drops or is there still going to be mechanics like loot master or need/greed rolling?

Group XP is slightly too complex for this space, I'll see if our lead systems designer can comment.

Biz model:  We've determined that more people hate business models than love a given one for many reasons. :)  We'll announce more of our plans later this year.

Ground mounts yes, flying mounts we have a debate going on even in this thread!

Dungeon finder yes, once you've unlocked the dungeon.  Raid finder TBD, but there's a lot of debate on our forums about whether the ease of access makes raids not meaningful enough, so we haven't implemented it that way.  Feedback welcome.

Max level 50 at the moment.

I did battle with ignorance today, and ignorance won.

To exercise power costs effort and demands courage. That is why so many fail to assert rights to which they are perfectly entitled - because a right is a kind of power but they are too lazy or too cowardly to exercise it. The virtues which cloak these faults are called patience and forbearance.

What's the 'proper' name of WildStar? I see in your signature it's called WildStar Online, and the WildStar website is WildStar Online, but I've never actually heard it ever referred to as WildStar Online, and frankly, I think just 'WildStar' is better branding. The whole 'Online' thing is so overdone.

What should we be calling it?

For mounts, will these be something that can be out and visible on your housing spot? Like in a garage or barn for example?

    Thanks a bunch! :D

My last question is a 2-parter:

    • What are the rewards for PvPing / Battlegrounds / Warplots?
    • As a 1% raider, I look to other MMORPGs to see if I enjoy the end-raid content. Raiding should be a partial gear-check, but in WoW, dungeons have become entirely gear checks - Bosses hitting tanks and wiping raids with single, unavoidable abilities and trillions of hp. The entire model becomes having 20 people geared with best in slot to recieve best in slot gear.
How are end-raids designed to be, a testament to gear or a testament to organization, skill, and mechanics to conquer?

Not being able to fly in a sci-fi game breaks my immersion.  If you don't want to fly then don't.  Stop trying to force everyone to play the way you want.

Sure:  Short form is we're aiming for at least one big dynamic area chock full of PQs and other solo/semi-solo content, regular new consumable content advancing the world story (approximately once a month but if we're cool like the GW2 guys we'll speed it up even more), deep housing stuff (some revealed some not), and more.  Around the end of the summer we'll lift the veil on a lot of the elder game plans in detail so that it's not hand-wavey answers.

So Launch is going to be at least after the end of summer if you still have plans to be announcing things "around the end of summer". Sounds like you have a rough timetable in mind. Can you let slip any dates? October launch?

Will gear be separate for PvP and PvE, or will they cross over, and I can just use one set of gear?

Does dodge mechanic in wildstar give you damage immunity frame for the time of the animation, like for example dodge in Neverwinter, or not ?

Hi! Just want to say, I've been following the game ever since the first trailer and I'm super stoked it's in beta. One Question: Will there be a Mac/OSX port of the game or any thought of it? Mac-users tend to get flak for asking but I'll still play no matter the platform!

    Hello,

Thanks for taking your time to answer to our questions:)

1)Considering that my f5 key will survive and i will not take a beta invite when the next beta wave is coming?

2)How major role the professions are taking in game?

Do you have professions to make some gear so people can enter raids or you will constantly upgrade professions with new items each time you have a new PvE update?

3)A major problem in games is that with every new patch the previous content is becoming abandoned. You no longer want to visit dungeons/raids cause you will not have any benefits and this is not something good.

What are your plans about that?

Do you want to implement a system like TBC WoW with attuments and and raid requirements including killing previous bosses or you want the new system of WoW that after each patch you only need to do the patch content.

I really love to see the TBC system. This is good so we can have guilds at all progression levels and also previous content will not be abandoned.

    Also...

What is your interest about Greek cooking?I can be your personal chef if i can have a beta invite:)

That's nice, but consider this - you're using game mechanics to circumvent game mechanics. You have to go extremely far out of your way to to pull off and execute this - you'd be lucky to pull it off on an AFK player. AFK air ganking isn't the best way to go off about PvP.

If flying mounts are implemented, there needs to be a way to either begin an aerial fight and shoot the player down to encourage World-PvP or have some other system in place. We have the technology - we're flying space ships here, add aerial combat, at least. Flying mounts don't have to interact with ground units but we should at least be able to bring other players down to our level!

I don't understand, how does flying break immersion? Forcing the player to walk to everywhere, forever, is a major annoyance, imo. I am going to assume, that you have flown on an airplane at some point - did it make you feel like the Earth is small, or that you are getting to your destination too fast? Probably not, so why would it be like that in Wildstar?

As long as flying mounts are a max lvl thing, it wouldn't be a problem, imo. At that point, you have already explored most of the game world, why force the players to go through that same area over and over, especially if they are just logging in to do some small task on their lunch break?

If I think back in time, back in Vanilla WoW, did I feel immersed in the game? Yes. After TBC came out, did I still feel immersed? Yes.

Gaining flying mounts from level 1 or max level does no difference imo as the effect will be the same in the end with players just flying past content and the negative effect on us world PvP lovers and exploring in general :( I'm all for flying mounts if done well i.e a world with flying islands or space flight.

I'm against everything that "removes" players from the world, it's an MMO after all, on that note i fear people will camp in their housing area and queue for everything, simular what happened to WoW and they had to actually implement a mechanic to bring players into the dead world.

That's what many of us fear/complain about. I do in no way know how it will work in Wildstar btw i hope for the best.

Fortunately for many, not everyone is a world PVPer - or even a PVPer at all. Especially with the implementation of the Paths in Wildstar, Carbine is very clearly attempting to make a game for everyone - as well as a game that involves skill to play it. Flying over your head to get to a destination faster when level-capped is convenient for the players who would, say, like to focus on gathering and professions (yes, like in WoW), and very convenient for by-passing both enemy players as well as MoBs.

Does this downplay your ability to slit the enemy's throat as they're picking flowers on the canyon? Yes.

Does this empower the player who plays not to engage with others and might, perchance, be a solo player in a large MMORPG? Yes.

I seem to remember an area in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion that was specially crafted for open-world PVP, and simply being in the area flagged you for PvP, even on a RP server where you had to manually flag yourself to be attackable to players of the opposite faction. Was this annoying to players such as myself who had no real interest in PvP? Yes. So I simply didn't go there. Point being - players will play to how they want to play, regardless of whether they'll be flying or not - flying simply makes it easier.

IMO, flying mounts get you from point A to point B faster. That is their purpose - aside from being absolutely awesome. (IE: spaceships, dude) Comparing it to the real world is tricky, considering we wouldn't play MMOs if the real world were as interesting or engaging. By end game, hopefully you'll be able to say you've seen the content and fought the mobs and done the quests.

If you're the type of player who enjoys running from point A to point B, then by all means, I highly recommend you run, hop, skip and jump. However, taking forever to get where you need to go, for example on your lunch break for those of us who need to work for a living, is very uninviting. No, Carbine isn't trying to make a game your grandmother could play, but it's nice to be able to have shortcuts when you're pressed for time - or simply lazy.

You have the choice to not fly.  Flying fits the genre.

I don't want anyone flying, there's a difference. But from the sounds of it, you won't be playing on my server anyway, so it's all good. ;)
