Is it confirmed that wildstars zones will be seamless? it may sound weird but i think one big reason i always end up going back to wow is because of the large seamless world. it makes it feel vast and while the quest lines may be linear it still makes it feel like you can explore.

Seamless:
Yes and I think a lot of us are excited about that fact. I agree that it definitely makes a big difference but sometimes it's not discussed enough. Although on the topic of exploring if you really enjoy that, one of the paths is for that. It let's you see parts of the map the rest of us can't and takes you to some cool spots. I know there's a bunch of videos that show that somewhere.
Taken from the Team Wildstar Twitter when the question was asked about Seamless zones.
"They're seamless, however Nexus has multiple continents that you'll need to find transport to."
So that is GREAT news. I was really hoping for this also. Too many loading screens is a real immersion killer for me.
@ Sharuko. What's up with your Youtube link? looks a little odd to me.
lol this better?

Youtube makes it like that when you share it at a specific point. My link, links to the area where he goes between two zones and he shows how it is seamless.
Seamless, really one of the last things on my mind when it comes to mmos.
A seamless world is very important to me, that's part why i never bought games like SWTOR it felt like you walked in a FPS map with huge walls everywhere, i got claustrofobic walking around and the planet did not really feel like planet at all, you explored a fraction of the world before you went to the next planet allso all the loading zones...
Next problem that usally comes with linear and non seamless world are the heavy use of invisible walls and other punishing stuff to keep your char on track, did you guys try Tera? where in the very first zone there was couple of nice scenic views and you walk to the edge and want to jump down but you can't because there's a large invisible walls blocking your out even though there's nothing that blocks you. Want to jump onto that object there like a small rock? Nope it kicks you away once you touch it. etc...
I've been waiting sooo long for an MMO with a seamless world and world PvP!
ah all working good now thanks !
This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
Seamless at first may sound like more of an OCD thing or the last thing some people think about. However, seamless is a really nice feature for me personally. I play Guild Wars 2 and sometimes the constant loading screens bug me.
I look back at my time playing WoW and the best moments for me was finishing up a zone and walking into the next zone. The sky changes, the colors change, different weather, etc. It feels more like a world with everything connected. Think about some of WoW's transition zones like walking from Stonetalon into the Barrens. Areas where you could not quite tell where Stonetalon ended and the Barrens began.
people people people, about 8 years ago these things called solid state hard drives were invented. sata 3 6gb/s ssd loading time vs 7200 rpm standard disc, if the regular hd you have now takes 30 seconds to loading screen, the ssd takes 1/3rd of 1 second.
people will piss and moan all day long about how they upgraded their cpus and gpus, but they sit there on a 7200 rpm moving parts drive taking minutes to load things instead of spending a few dollars on an ssd and playing the game instead!
It's not about how long it takes to load, it is about immersion. There is no reason not to be semeless. Wow was able to do it 9 years ago. Computers are much better than back then.
I am playing Firefall atm and one of the main things I love about it is the semeless world.
Switching to a solid state drive for both my operating system and games was the single biggest increase in speed I have ever seen on a computer. The difference is staggering.
That being said, SSDs still are too costly for some people, but I can't imagine playing Guild Wars 2 on a system without one. The loading screens do break immersion.
