Fact of the matter is, this has been publicly known and exploited for over 12 hours now. The only line of communication that has been opened is a forum moderator literally copy and pasting and old message about them working on it.
There has been zero communication or reassurance from the developers or anyone with real authority over the game.
So now, everyone is in panic mode. I only paid 60 bucks for the Guardian pack, but others paid 200 for the Hero pack. Not to mention all the people that paid RL money for Zen. So now people feel cheated. There AD and Zen has lost the majority of its value. Its like having money in the bank in Greece.
Dude, a good many People have been using this exploit since launch and kept it quiet. Hence, why the economy was completely borked from the start already!
This Whole exploit became Public about 24 hours ago and exploded in their faces when everyone started duping and then bought up ALL available Zen from the trade market!
PWE doesn't give a crap. Maybe do a couple 72 hour bans. That's it. Like they did With previous exploit LOL! /Facepalm
This Whole exploit actually Works in their favor, as the Zen/AD Conversion ratio is now back to 500 to 1 !
If PWE had any ethical standards (Which they don't) they would have taken ALL servers Down immediately and do a 24 hour rollback to the point before the exploit became Public. Ban all exploiters. Then investigate the logs and ban those who exploited since launch.
That's what usually happens in Subscription based MMO's in the past when major exploits were discovered. BAM! All server Down until fixed! Or shut Down the area/Dungeon/system that contains exploit until fixed!
Pretty much never happens in F2P games, due to the crap With the Cash Shop... as With a rollback they will need to spend a significant amount of time going through logs and refund People Zen and Money who spend it during the hours of rollback!
So it's safely to say this game is done for! As this isn't the first AD exploit that got discovered With hardly any action taken.
This one is just the icing on the cake that litterly blew up in their faces! What a joke!

I was wondering when someone was going to point this out. This exploit was just being advertised in pubic chat last night , it's been going on for weeks with multiple guilds knowing to keep their mouths shut about being able to instantly generate millions and millions of AD and thus ZEN also.
The smart cheaters kept it quiet and reasonable for over a week now , it then become public knowledge and billions were being created last night but tons of folks , this isn't new folks , its been slowly destroying the economy for a week now.
It just blew it the hell apart instantly last night is the only new thing.
So short of a week roll back , there's billions of duped AD and tons of ZEN in the market already. Not even counting last night.
Everyone is slowly starting to understand that Neverwinter is really just a ''f2p'' mmorpg and is not worthy playing more than for few weeks
We all know that neverwinter is now played a lot just because players have nothing else to play/its new and they are waiting for teso, wildstar, aa, arr or eqnext to be released
Most likely PWE will just confiscate large piles of AD that can't be justified by matching Zen purchases with real cash. Same for Zen.
Their focus will be to protect their profit margins as far as possible. So remove any large blocks of suspect currency from the game and then simply carry on as normal.
Pulling apart who earned which benefit and then confiscating all the illegitimate items and banning accounts is a huge manpower-intensive exercise. Then dealing with the inevitable appeals and forum slander is probably not worth it.
It will cause some bad feeling in the current playerbase, but that will all be forgotten in a week or two. Besides, F2P games are not built on the concept of long-lasting player relationships. They expect a constant stream of new blood, otherwise their sales potential will fall dramatically over time.
They wont fix crap, I put in total of 3 tickets since the game was release and gotten no response since.....It was for losing IRL money from turning it into their money. they dont give a crap about their players at all. as soon as ESO is released I am deleting this game off my HD.
Hey All - We're on top of this and will post more details here as they become available. We have a team of engineers investigating issues on the log side, and also working to deploy a fix that will allow up to bring Gateway and the Astral Diamond exchange up again.
LMAO! I am glad I stopped playing this Turd. I just see my 60 bucks in Guardian Pack as a loss and move on. Will never touch a PWE / Cryptic game again!
They are NOT going to take any serious action. Just go through logs and slap the naughty cheaters on their wrist, rub their hair and tell them not to do it again With a 72 hour suspension (like With previous AD exploit).
They are now more concerned about fixing the exploit ASAP, so they can bring the services back online, as it's hurting their Revenue stream! lol! And like I (and others) said before! This Whole exploit Plays in their favor, as the AD/Zen Conversion ratio is back to 500 to 1! Plus People have to buy Zen again to populate the AD/Zen Exchange! Win/Win situation for PWE!!
So there you have it folks! No rollbacks! NADA!
PWE is showing their true colors now. Hope People now understand With what kind of Company they're dealing With!
Glad I read hear. 3 of us were thinking of joining Neverwinter and use the 15% discount for Zen offer we got. We'll move on elsewhere. We also thought of maybe Defiance or Rift too but these issues we have read... We'll hold for now.
EDIT: Almost bought Founder's pack and 2 Guardian packs 3 months ago. Money was not the issue. We just wasn't sure and glad we held.
Not to be snide but that is why smart people wait before they invest in games like this.
But even funnier is that this will not hurt the game the slightest... In a few weeks it will be forgotten and a huge chunk of the people who "quit" will be back spending like it is Christmas.
So the op spent 200 bucks, you knew what you were getting were talking pwe. So you got your stuff, your items, and an account. Then went over to discover and told them you got defrauded??
So PWE banned you. Did you really think they were going to let you keep an account with all those goodies after you told your credit card company you were defrauded.
Just who is committing the fraud here. OP you should realize when you do that I don't care if its PWE, or Turbine, of SOE, the minute you tell your credit card company it was fraud, they will ban that account.
So yes problem solved for both sides. Honestly come to come over in these forums and gripe that you been banned after you tried to get something for free, I got another word for that. Credit card fraud is a crime and just because you called discover and reported this, does not mean this is going to go well for you once the investigation is over. Discover will investigate this and if they determined no fault on pwe those charges come back, and you take a hit to your credit score.
How do these cc chargebacks actually work ? Can you just ask for a chargeback because you feel like it, or do you have to justify it ? Can the merchant oppose the chargeback at all ?
I'm just wondering, because I'd not be the slightest bit surprised if PWE doesn't start fighting back if the chargeback volume starts rising...
Spotty for my CC one of the options is "product does not meet quality expectations".
Verbatim.
I chose this option , now PWE can prove why it shouldn't be said it does not meet quality expectations for a paid product.
Nothing fraudulent about it - for some reason some people on here are clueless that good CC companies take care of their good customers.
The CC itself put in the option to claim the product does not meet my quality expectations - why should I not use this option if the CC specifically put it there ?
That's right , I'm a founder (200 bucks ) , and posted in a large thread asking for a refund if they don't wipe the servers.
They banned everyone from the forums who posted in the thread , and deleted the thread.
Whether it's a forum ban or game ban I don't really care , as 30 seconds on the Discover card site and checking "product not as advertised" just solved this.
Sad though , I actually liked the game a lot , but this has shown me PWE deserves no monetary support.
I'm there with ya brother, got a file claimed also that states either a full character/server wipe or refund of full purchase price. I don't want anything to do with a company that is going to let that slide as it will only get worse. Looks like this game may suffer the same fate as RaiderZ, good gameplay lost to terrible customer support/management and a lack of general concern.
PWE is turning into the "go to" company for quick cash grabs it seems.
How the hell did Discover justify this refund??? You were delivered what you purchased, in-game items. My friend, you did not purchase a game. Had you purchased a game, perhaps you would have ground to stand on. But ftp trend has shown to be a safety net for poor games. But I digress, I don't see what ground you have to stand on for purchasing virtual items, which you received. When you purchased the pack including AD (and Zen?) they never formally stated the in-game worth of these items, which has clearly changed to this exploit. You sir, are what is wrong with the gaming community and possibly the world at large. Wag of my finger to you.
To everyone agreeing. Ask yourself, Did you purchase a GAME? Or items within in a free world, which you were delivered as promised?
Hate to say it, but if you think about this logically from a calm mind. This is insanity and the only thing false about this ordeal, is your claim that was submitted to Discover.
If I want a world in which people can purchase success and power with cash, I'll play Real Life. Keep Virtual Worlds Virtual!

Perfect World sold in-game currency for their game Neverwinter through their Guardian's Pack product.
Perfect World then allowed an outrageous economic exploit to go viral within the game that rendered the in-game currency worthless. Perfect World then removed my access to the in-game currency all together, effectively re-taking possession of a product or service they had previously sold to me, thereby obtaining money under false pretenses.
I do not have the in-game currency I was sold, and it's value has been terribly comprised by the ineptitude and complicity of Perfect World employees.
Consumer's Desired Resolution:
A full character and server wipe and/or a complete refund of the purchase price of $xx plus an additional $xx of Zen purchased.

Discover says I can fill a claim for , wait for , WAIT for it,
"product or service did not meet expectations"
I never said a thing about not receiving the founders pack.
Reading comprehension is hard.
Discover says it's completely legit to ask for a chargeback if I think I got a shitty product in other words.
And I do. And I did. And I will win the chargeback.
Sorry , nothing fraudulent about that , I say PWE's customer service is shit , and their product is shit , Discover simply puts it in a more polite way of "did not meet expectations".
Now PWE is on the clock for proving their product is a good and quality one.

He purchased some part of the game and because the game is faulty and developers are idiots, he has rights to demand refund
Originally posted by joeydtx79 Why would they wipe the servers when they stated there would be no wipe in the Open Beta phase, essentially a soft release of the game? It was clear in the announcements, where is the false advertising?
After having said that, if they do wipe the servers, it will demonstrate that neither Cryptic nor PWE have any concept of integrity. Those who do, do not go back on their given word. I will be VERY annoyed if I lose all of the time and effort I've put into my level 46 GWF. I really do not care about the $40 I've spent on the game so far (I can always get more money), but the time is another matter.

Given words/promises are not relevant under some serious circumstances you know ... for greater good they should be broken.
Spending $200 on founder pack (Beta) is a mugs game. Some people should never, ever have control over their money. First test the game, wait long as possible until reviews appear then decide if its really worth it. I made that mistake in the past, I learned from it.
EDIT: Just take a look at Star Trek Online, they did the same thing and look where it is. Failed game, gone "free to play"
You might could have at least waited to see if they were going to resolve the issue you posted about. Granted they probably wont, but waiting and seeing what happened before doing a chargeback would have been prudent.
The CC companies do not like it when you do this either. Activity such as this will determine your line of credit, interest rate, ect. in the future as well. I am not saying you did anything wrong necessarily, but those are considerations.
I assure you , asking for 200 dollar chargeback compared to the sheer amount of money I put and pay off on the Discover monthly will not cause a long standing bank of mine to blink an eye at me. It's not something I do frequently ,and good CC companies advertise this , specifically Discover , as a major function of the customer service for its customers.
The opposite of PWE obviously.
I wasn't rude , simply asked for a refund if they don't wipe the servers , and there's nothing ban worthy in that post.
Since PWE chose to treat me this way , they've earned it.
And we all know who wins this dispute , and if anyone thinks Discover won't refund me the 200 it's now up to PWE to answer in a timely manner (ha , ha , ha , ha ,ha ) why their product is as advertised , and also to explain why they banned my account for asking for a refund as I just uploaded a screenshot showing my forum account banned and the one asking for a refund.
So a credit card company is going to see I asked for a refund , got my account closed because of that , with zero actual communication from PWE.
There's only one way that goes in customer dispute situations , and PWE deserves it.
How would the CC "see" any of this? While I tend to agree that you will get your refund, I doubt that PWE will provide much of anything beyond a form letter response to the CC. Its simply not cost effective from their perspective. But keep in mind that PWE keeps a list of those charge backs, and any IP's connected to them, Its also been rumored that many Asian companies share their internal charge back lists.
But demanding a server wipe is WAY over the top. Especially since they have stated that there will be no more wipes. Why should everyone on the entire server be punished, for the misdeeds of a relative few?
