Why the terrible download speed?

Aion might have, as some call it, the best F2P model out there, and I've decided to give it a go for the first time since launch, but I am trying to download and install it through the NCSoft launcher, and the best speed I've gotten so far was 62k/sec, but generally it's between 30-40k/sec.

Apparently it's gonna take me another 5500+ hours to download this game. Somehow I let it run for 10 hours while i was at work and stuff yesterday, and it managed to get to 9% complete, but goddamn. I haven't had a download this slow in the past 10 years or so. lol

I don't know why it is, but I'm never gonna finish the download at this rate.

But perhaps there's an alternative download source somewhere?

    Guess no one gives a damn about this game. It's now like 10 hours later amd I've gone up 2% in that time. :(

    or maybe no one knows why you are getting a slow download?

    If that's the case, then I suggest you just wait a couple weeks for Rift to go F2p. Similar business models when it comes to Cash shop

    To that end, did you try restarting the download? You can also try restarting your router.

    I did both three times. Guess it's just a shit download. It actually went down to 17k/sec. Fucking pathetic.

    sorry i didnt see this sooner.

     

    try launching the nc launcher thingy as admin.  then in the options of the launcher disable pando media booster.

     

    when i did this my DL speed skyrocketed to about 2mb/sec
