Oh, fun topic. My favourite class is healer/support and generally that will always be my main and alt as a Mage.
DaoC: Midgard Norse Healer, she totally rocked! I always wanted to play a Friar in DaoC but by the time I decided to play one my guild had moved to WoW so I never got the chance.
WoW: Undead Healer I played for years, she was awesome. Alt was a Gnome Mage and let me tell you I absolutely love Gnomies! I wanted to make a Gnome healer but the community and game turned horrid so I quit years ago.
I tend to go for the smaller/shorter classes and if that isn't an option then usually humans.
Night Elves from World of Warcraft...Night Elf women...Ahh yeah!
Stygians from Age of Conan
Favorite Classes: SWTOR- Sith Inquisitor, Eve online for letting me choose what I want to do or change it as needed.
All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care. Playing: ESO, WOT, Smite, and Marvel Heroes
Race: Arasai from EQ2 - great for RP especially as a Coercer
Class: Mesmer from GW2(the army of illusions), both Enchanter classes from EQ2(great mix of DPS and Support class), the Bard from Vanguard(for its unique concept of creating your own songs/melodies)
I play an elven archer when I can get it. Fav was World of Warcraft's Hunter because of collecting pets. I didn't like how they shrunk down tho. I wanted my pets to stay big ass.
Classes - Surprised nobodys mentioned HOX yet from AOC, they are one of the most fun classes I have ever played, Minstrel from LOTRO Bloodmage from Vanguard and the Druid and Paladins and Warlocks from WoW

When it comes to the best ranger class i would say Vanguards is the best. What you describe is more of the traditional rpg ranger that is more druid.
Vanguard ranger is more akin to the solitary guardian who roams and lives in the wilds, protecting a civilization that perhaps may not even know he is there.
He makes his own arrows, poison cures, tracking, stealth and foraging. Duel wielding scout that can survive in the wild for long periods of times scouting behind enemy lines.
Everquest 2. I have two favorites my all time favorite is Kera - cat like toon, and my second favorite is Ratonga -mouse like toon that can say some of the strangest things with certain emotes.
I got to say eq2 sure has a lot of different races to choose from.
Rogue from Rift. Souls? Bard, Bladedancer, Ranger, Nightblade. Mesmer from Guild Wars 1.
Third:
Back to DDO with Paladins. Best Paladins out of any MMO. Of course Neverwinter Nights is even better, but that's not an MMO, so, not a valid reply for this thread, otherwise NWN 2 would take the first place in every way (Wood elves for race and Eldritch Knights class-wise)
I know they got a lot of flack but I really enjoyed my Erudite from EQ1. They had big ole heads but their fashion sense was impeccable haha! Even in the 2nd version of the game, when put beside their alien counterparts, they put them to shame in how cool they looked in their gear. LIke some badass Benedictine monk from Africa or something.
Class would have to agree with the OP, the EQ enchanter, be it from 1 or 2 was by far the most magical and versatile class I ever played. Made me feel like more of a traditional wizard than the actual wizard class did.
I preferred the Erudite of EQ1 myself and I loved that they were non stereotypical it saddened me how they were changed in EQ2.
Favorite class? Easily the Disciple from Vanguard
Any mmo worth its salt should be like a good prostitute when it comes to its game world- One hell of a faker, and a damn good shaker!
Races : Gnome (wow) ,ratonga and dark elf (eq2) Classes : Chaos chosen in warhammer, bard soul in rift, barbarian in age of conan, druid in vanilla wow
EQ1 Shaman by far. If played very well, there wasn't much you couldn't do. Hell it was so damn good, that is was everyone's go to class to add to their 2-box for many years until mercs finally hit. And if you played one as your main, you figured out how to do some crazy things with your spells.
Vanguard Shaman and Bard are really fun as well.
Looking back over the thread, I can't help but notice that the majority seems to be EQ1 or Vanguard. Eve and Guild wars 1 seem to be coming in a close second. Seems the great games just make memorable classes to play and none of this 4-5 Classes on release bullcrap that we see now.

Honestly Vanguard and EQ2 pretty much win in both these regards. They truly have amazing characters. I can't wait to see how EQNext pans out.
Ah yes, how did I manage to forget that! I played that class for 2 years solid. Amazing.
Fav race: Vanguard's Raki
Fav class: EQ Necro. They may have changed/improved in other mmo's but this one still brings back fond memories.
Good thread O.P
My faves are as follows.
Race - Gnome (WoW EQ2 Vanguard) Halfling (LOTRO) Dwarf (All) Charr (GW2)

I got to say eq2 sure has a lot of different races to choose from.
First:
Elves (Drow & "high") and Bards from DDO.
Second:
Can't choose between
Rogue from Rift. Souls? Bard, Bladedancer, Ranger, Nightblade.
Mesmer from Guild Wars 1.
Third:

We?re all dead, just say it.
The Charr, from GW2, are a fun race to play. The back stories are fun and there is also quite a bit of humor with the stories also.
Mesmer from GW1 and GW2 - they play totally different but are fun and hard to play.
I preferred the Erudite of EQ1 myself and I loved that they were non stereotypical it saddened me how they were changed in EQ2.
Favorite class? Easily the Disciple from Vanguard

Class: Imperial Agent - Operative (SWTOR)
EQ1 Shaman by far. If played very well, there wasn't much you couldn't do. Hell it was so damn good, that is was everyone's go to class to add to their 2-box for many years until mercs finally hit. And if you played one as your main, you figured out how to do some crazy things with your spells.

Race: Easy: Goblin from Warhammer Online.
Class: Can't decide. Though Vanguard bard is really good.
