Any word on offical gamepad for PC?

tats27tats27 Member UncommonPosts: 95

I normally use my PS3 controller, but it requires some 3rd party programs to work and is kind of a pain in the butt.

I played FFXI for 5 years on my PS2 and I would like to use a gamepad for XIV as well.

Anyone read any news regarding PC gamepads for the game?

I have used my ps3 controller but because of the 3rd party software it have run into some problems.

I mostly use my Xbox 360 Controller its plug and play very easy to use and i have never had any problems using it on any game.

Use a wired controller any 360 controller will work fine with no problems.

You can buy them for $15-20

When i play FF14 or FF11 I only use my xbox controller

Never had an issue using my PS3 gamepad and MotionJoy. Love the customization options and it works like a charm.

lol, im curious to try it too. Ill probably stick to the good old board and mouse but that new interface looks interesting. Plus itll give me some insight on how much I should actually trust a controller user to tank or heal for me, lol.

Ill be using xbox 360 controller. Id love to use my PS3 but the last 2 times I tried was a headache to get working and even then didnt work correctly. Surprised there arent any PC drivers for it by now, at least some fan made ones. Sony could make some extra cash by releasing some official drivers for PC as well. /shrug

Eventually it should have support for most gamepads.  Anything that supports Xinput and a few other models were known to work.

I use my PS3 using the DS3 tool which which reads my controls as an xbox 360 control but its because all games are already set for 360 controls in options.  But ya if you use a 360 controls its pretty much plug and play.  Windows will do an auto update from MS for the software when you hook it up first time.
