Will Elder Scrolls Online break free of this current 3rd gen MMORPG?

or will it fail and fall under the lines of WoW 3rd gen clone?  I am excited to play Elder Scrolls but I was excited for Vangaurd, Conan, Warhamme, SWTOR but all seems to fail.  I haven't playd MMOs in sometime now been taking a break, but now I am curious will Elder Scrolls break the mold? or will we will be stuck in 3rd gear looking at another fail.

i wish people would be less concerned about reaking the mold and just more about if its a good game.

F2P may be the way of the future, but ya know they dont make them like they used toimage
Proper Grammer & spelling are extra, corrections will be LOL at.

From all the information available this will not redefine the genre or really do anything special. But it still might be a good game, only time will tell.

I will vocally comment on features I do not like when they have been revealed but it is pointless being negative about things that we simply just do not have the answers to yet.

So far it seem very GW2 like, but without the B2P model. sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. oh well,.

it has the potential to silence all the naysayers.  it's far from the standard themepark model we've become accustomed to.  I think it's one of the few AAA mmo's in the last 8 years or so that has potential for longevity.  but only time will tell.

I doubt it will fail, but it is based on a 1st gen MMO: DAoC. There is nothing in it that is unique, innovative, or ground breaking.

It could have been all 3 of those with the TES IP, but chose not to.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.
