My thought on Marvel Heroes

Hi guys!  Hope it's not too late to write  a review.

I like this game so far. It's not a AAA+ MMO but still a good game.

Especially if you are a marvel fan like me. This game could be a perfect match for you.

    Pretty accurate ...

    some addition ...

i found in a game like this ... polish is important. If i have to kill thousands of mobs, killing them needs to be perfectly fun ... that means my powers, the animation, the feel .. has to be good.

MH is obviously a bit lacking in this polish. The combat animation is better than that in beta (i played the close beta) but no where close to the level of polish of D3.

The saving grave is that you get to use powers of famous superheroes, so i am a little more forgiving if that repulsor blast does not look at powerful, or that death animation does not look as awesome.

yeah, i've actually had some fun in it... as a comic book fan (i'm more of a dc guy than marvel) i can appreciate some of what the game offers, it's definitely not great but as a free time waster it's not been terrible.

i'm currently playing as the thing and smashing stuff up.. was cool to fight doctor octopus.

as a mindless, free.. timewaste i'd say it's worth the install and to play for  a few months.

That review is pretty spot on.

Its a decent time waster for free.  Its not mindblowingly awesome or anything, but if you like arpgs or marvel its worth a look since it doesn't cost anything.

I'd also give it 7/10.  The nice thing about online games is that they can get better over time.  With some polish, more content and work on the end game, it could eventually be an 8.5.

A fairly good review from what little I experienced.

I could not get past the camera. I got a little bit into the tutorial before uninstalling. Having my camera frozen at one angle in an MMO was too much for me. In SP games that works OK, though still not my preferred view point, but in MMOs I can not deal with it. There may be a way to move the camera, but I could not find it.

The combat, like you said, was straight forward and in my short play time got too repetitive for my tastes. I cannot imagine what playing longer would be like.

If the camera does not bother a player, they can find fun in short bursts, I think. This is just not a game I will be playing.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

I found this one difficult to get into.  Basically the lack of customization and isometric view killed it for me pretty quickly.

Only thing I'd really disagree with is you call it an mmorpg, they don't.  It's just a silly title that doesn't really mean anything but it does give some people a fales impression of what to expect.

Game devs are backing away from calling their games MMORPGs (like Destiny and Division are NOT MMOs).
