Limit Break information

Here is the latest trailer (Limit Breaks start@3:00)

 

 

To summarize this is what we know about the limit break system:

  • It runs off a gauge filled by the party's actions.  This is called the "Fine Play" system. (Live letter)
  • It is initiated by one party member, their role determining the type of Limit Break used. 

Here is the tooltip from a screenshot of the Ifrit live demo at E3.

  • There are Three Levels of potency each requiring more of the gauge to be filled.

    The title teased me!!!! I thought there was going to be an official update on the home page.

     

     

    I'm interested to see the other classes moves as well and if there are any particular special effects associated with each.

     

     

    Example: Does the War's limit break add a slow while the Mnk's adds a poison. If not, is there any difference between which DD character starts it?

     

    I wonder if the graphic will change per tier of limit break used? AND... is the DRG really using Omnislash in the trailer????

    Bah, my poor Archer gets a crappy heal. /shrug ... ill probably be using LBs more as a Monk anyway.

    Well you'd be a Bard in a group not an archer most likely anyways (as bard is the job Archer can become).  Though I wonder if they will adapt this system in the future if/when (I'd assume when like Ranger/Musketeer's job etc.) ranged non-support jobs are introduced.  Maybe they will be classified as Magic for their LB.
