Bound to account items

I bought a mount which was marked Bound to Account, and figured it would make the item available to all my alts on the same server, but this isn't the case.  Only the character who made the transaction got the mount.  Is it a bug?   I've trawled Google but not much comes up on the subject - anyone got an answer?

    Yeah just mail it to your alt, as there is no shared storage. Between shard's is a bit more time consuming though.

    Nothing in any of my alts mailboxes.  I wouldn't have bothered buying it with one character and posting it to an alt since it was bought with Credits from the ingame store, which all characters have access to anyway.  It's quite a puzzle.

    If they did it like lotro, it's not a bug. I've noticed alot of incorrect item description's. Most store bought item's like mount's, non combat pet's etc, are automatically added to the chr you bought them on.

    Have you checked if that mount is now free to your alts in the store?

    I don't know if they do that sort of thing.. just having a guess.

    Pretty sure they all say bind on pickup.  I know mine did, and no they cant be mailed to alts.  It's just like everquest 2 in that regard.  You're going to have to pay for each mount on each character, is a big part of their business strategy and makes sense.

    Rojo^^^,yea this sound's like EQ2 and their heirloom system.Basically you buy the mount and it can be sent to other char's on that shard,but only 1 at a time can actually have it and use it.

    Not sure if it works the same way but I got a free 110% speed mount through "Loyalty Rewards" that they gave me based on the months I subbed a couple of years ago.

    In order to get that mount you have to go to the home page of the in-game store and on the upper right hand, whatever you have waiting for you to claim is sitting there. When you claim, it appears in your bags.

    So far the mount has been there waiting to be claimed for several new characters I created in different servers (been playing in whichever server had the shortest Q :) )

    yupp. THis another player explained to me in game today when i got my "bound to account" mount on one character only.

    I've check this morning and the mount I bought, the Tindrel (robo-spider) is maked as "Binds to Account", so that rules out it being a bind on pickup item - it was worth double-checking though.  The mount does not appear in my inventory, since I had to right-click it to use it, so there's nothing I can mail to a different character to let them use the mount for a while.

    As for buying it and mailing it straight to a alt, since all characters have access to the Credits in the Cash Store the need to buy it and mail it to an alt wouldn't ever arise.  I'll just put it down to the tooltip being incorrect, I think.
