I was surprised to not see this posted already but Dean Hall is interested in bringing DayZ to the next generation of game consoles. Hall was originally looking into both the Xbox One and the Playstation 4 but now the X1 is looking less likely due to Microsoft's unfriendly way of handling Indie Developers.
Well getting DayZ on the PS4 would definitely solve the constant question of "Can my PC run DayZ?" "If you have to ask probably not, but the PS4 can."

Yeah, I already posted this here:

Didn't generate much interest.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
Probably because the general gaming forum is being flooded with PS4 and X1 threads hopefully this will get some more traffic being on the DayZ page.
Most who ask can my PC run DayZ are those who have PC's bought by groceryshop that even cannot run pong from 1974:P
So yeh your Ps4 can prolly run DayZ better then those crappy rigs.
Ill dare you for a comparison with my high end pc from 2012 ive bridge i very doub your future PS4 that comes even close to my high end PC on every lvl.
PS4 is huge upgrade from ps3 avarage PC'S or older PC'S but sorry to crush your dream it won't touch high end PC EVER.
Where in my post did I say it would. . . If someone actually knows what Ivy Bridge is they already know more than probably 70% of PC users sadly most people who ask "Can my PC run DayZ" are exactly as you said the kind of people who run out and buy a pre-built crappy PC at Walmart and BestBuy. The exact same people who would buy a Game Console with admittedly impressive specs for only $400 also with all PS4 having the exact same specs lag and random FPS drop should not be a concern.
Also PS4 beats all current high end PCs in one aspect, go out and and try to buy 8GB GDDR5 Ram for your PC that won't happen, for now at least.
I think there are a few positives for DayZ being available on PS4 or just consoles in general. The game would play very nice as far as having a controller in hand. This probably comes from me being a big console gamer also and prefering console FPS's over PC FPS's in some cases.
But the one real big plus in my eyes will be the use of in-game VOIP. Too many times in PC FPS's I've found the experience to be a little diluted because so many players generally go to 3rd party VOIP programs (TS3, Mumble, Raidcall etc) over the in-game option. Of course there are reasons behind that also of varying degrees, but it usually comes down to one or two like the in-game VOIP system just being so craptastic. Planetside 2's VOIP for example was random at best and a little cumbersome navigating through some of the UI before updates and patching.
While on console I look back at a gem like MAG (I use the game in comparision alot but it really was that good for its time), the in-game VOIP was pretty much flawless and the big bonus for most playing that game is the fact that the enemy can overhear your communications. This adds a bunch of flavor in my opinion as intel can sometimes be critical in tighter situations and overhearing a little nugget of information can go a long way in swaying some battles. When people head to outside programs for their VOIP communications you loose that potential interaction between players.
This brings me back to DayZ since communicating with people in-game can sometimes prove to be a life or respawn situation in a blink. If someone is on TeamSpeak 3 with their clanmates I doubt they are listening out for any "Friendly" call from some noob in game.
I feel that bringing back something as simple as in game voice comms as the primary and absolute choice in DayZ for consoles will be a huge boon for the playerbase and the gameplay they will experience. Yes there will of course be those that need to be muted / squelched for some people just aren't ready to play videogames with others and have need to spit their vitrol even when people could give less fucks about their biggotry and just want to play some games.
But to stay out of comm's for that reason alone can prove to be a little immature by the offended as well..
The game hopefully will prove to be a success and potentially bring something that has been missing in the console market. DayZ is such a compelling experience when the game is truly being played and not meta'd to the point where it dilutes the gameplay. I can't think of any other title out there that can really compare to the exact type of experience DayZ offers that is currently on consoles.
PM before you report at least or you could just block.
