    The name was just right from the beginning, so why change it?

    Smart move if you ask me.

     

    If microsoft were making the game they might have called it Everquest XP.

    Yeah smart move from a branding standpoint because they don't have to raise awareness again about a new title...  but I was hoping for NeverQuest =(

    if this game is actually a sandbox then they should have called it "NeverQuest"

    The name has been drilled into people for years, so it really isn't surprising.

    I like the Everquest Next name, so that's good.

     

    At any rate, it's been a lot more than a "working title" for quite a while now at least to fans.   It's been called EQ Next for so long now that they'd lose some branding if they changed the name now, wouldn't be a good idea.
