That is not a quote, the actual quote is below the text.

YES IT IS A QUOTE, its not like anyone can click a link and check it out themselves rofl

You are still selective quoting aren't you? Saying what he wants for a game is a quote to be taken rather than what the quote  having his realistic expectations from the game.

Tell me one thing, everyone of us SW fans wants to experience a world like Star Wars where we can roam through galaxies and explore planets but we all know to not expect it in our lifetime. So are we all, including you, failures going by your example since according to you "wanting something" decides failure than "realistic expectations"?

    RUSerious?

Its the COMMUNITY that said them they are mostly delusional on many occasions, and more and more it became more and more apparent what kind of game they are making. Of course they were immediately marked as "haters" by fanbois.

They THEMSELVES hyped the mob, they THEMSELVES expected to surpass WoW. They marked their target as clear as it gets.

    THEY DID. remember. that. always.

and the next time you dare to blame players and community.

"They THEMSELVES hyped the mob, they THEMSELVES expected to surpass WoW."

The quote is right there. They never expected to pass WoW, they just wanted it. How much more are you gonna ignore a damned quote.

Are you trying to troll bait here? Because that is against the forum rules.

    Says who?

WoW, GW2, EvE, RIft are all bigger at this point.

And thats just in the west. SWOTR was released GLOBALLY even had Oceanic servers (shut down now), so no, "on westerm market" is not applicable in SWTORs case.

Clearly they got "leadership position" rofl

Clearly laying off most of your core staff, 2 rounds of server merges and going F2P are sign of them "getting what they wanted".

Some people really go to extreme lenghts to make exuses for EAs failures, to the point where it really "why do they do it" question pops to mind.

Re-posting what i just said 10 posts ago since you can't see posts which give actual facts

There is no question for recovery. It is doing well for what the game is. Except WoW, all other MMOs are leagues below.

    1) EVE online's latest report said it had 500K subs. If you visited their reddit sub, you would have seen how most of the people agreed that such a high number is because of most of the people there having multiple accounts since you can just buy PLEX.

    2) SWTOR's last report also said that the subs have stabilised at 500K with more than 1.7M new players under F2P.

    3) Having played GW2 for over 1200 hours, i expect the same for GW2. The revenue is even less for GW2 because of lack of subs and only Black Lion gems funding future development. I have good respect for ArenaNet seeing how much content they keep on pumping even if some of it is fluff and temporary.

    4) Other games like EQ2, Aion, Tera wouldn't even come close to 500K subs. Rift is going a server unification because of low load servers.

For what a non-WoW MMO is capable of today,SWTOR is doing well.

How much YOU are going to ignore?

THEY EXPECT TO SURPASS WOW NOT KILL IT. THEY EXPECTED IT FROM THE START AND THAT WAS PROBABLY WHY EA BOUGHT BW IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Their bare minimum was 1 million long term subs but EXPECTATIONS WERE TO SURPASS WOW, thats why EA invested so much 800m$ for BW + all SWTOR production costs. Thats 1 BILLION $.

SWTOR didnt even made bare minimum (by their measure, let alone fulfilled expectations)

SWTOR is not doing nearly as well as it should be doing !!

We're talking about Star Wars here - it should have beaten WoW hands down - no contest whatsoever.

Star Wars appeals to people from ages 8 to 50, it has an appeal far greater than the science fiction genre or gaming genre per se.

SWTOR had a HUGE budget, ENORMOUS resources in terms of story telling and designs - think of all those films and books that have been published!

It's like selling a house of solid gold at a price just slightly above the average market price for a house.

That is just wishful thinking. Also, you are not giving credit to WoW's own lore which is hands down amazing. Not everyone is a crazy SW fan. I myself prefer fantasy setting over SW or any sci-fi one. Also, i have seen all the SW movies and they are good but not something i would be crazy about.

Also, WoW is still an almost perfect game and excels at many things than SWTOR. SWTOR is good in many aspects but not WoW good when you consider themepark MMOs.

Point is SWTOR is not performing anywhere near, or even in ballpark, it was expected to perform ever since EA bought BW.

Sure, there are still chances it will recover, and perform on the level LA/BW/EA expected, but damn, anyone willing place a bet on that one? At this time even EA came to peace with SWTOR failure and tries to salvage as much as they can with as little as they can.

No.  TOR will not recover.  It lost momentum and patches alone will not bring it back.  Too many things did not work such as the game engine (hero engine?), Ilum, the end game, and game balance.

To be honest, I hope it does not.  The Revan/Exile storyline was atrocious and I would not mind a retcon. But who am I kidding, TOR is the end note of the Kotor series.  A good rpg franchise reduced to a corny MMO.

You still live under the assumption BW/LA/EA expected anything less. After they themselves said it. Its sad.

These games? We are talking SWTOR here.

I see you wont take that bet. Smart, not even EA would rofl. Noone sane would.

lol...Rift? lol GW2? what are you smoking? Yes WoW and EVE are bigger sub wise than SW:TOR but I would insist on seeing some actual facts to back up your claims about Rift and GW2 cust that smells like pure bullshit to me lol...

So...do you have any actual facts or were you just pulling that statement out of your ass?
