Are there forced pvp and do you have to group/raid to get decent loot?

    Both. At 60 just grit through PvP for the tier 1 gear and after that it's up to you. I personally do not do PvP (except for gear). I don't even do the daily for PvP.

    You are not forced to PvP so no.
