One of my favorite pastimes in FFXI was fishing, so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how that will be implemented. Will fishing, housing and PVP be introduced in P4 and if so what are you most looking forward to?
What can we expect to see in P4 that hasn't been introduced yet?
Thanks.

Was either arcanist or summoner, but I know they did confirm one of the two would be in phase 4 just cant remember which they said
That's in so you should be thrilled
Currently Playing: FFXIV:ARR
Looking Forward to: Wildstar
I'm guessing P4 will be the weekend of 17/18 August ?
The 24/25 August weekend will be part of Early Access if launch is on 27 August.
And the P4 dates are only due to be announced on the 11th...

I would imagine a slight level cap increase and the Job system to be implemented.
Would be really bad if they go to launch and the White Mage quest is bugged or something.
Whole game will be open in phase 4, cant restrict the players that will be playing at launch. Plus, phase 4 is a trial not a beta test per the devs.

I forgot about the new jobs and that is definitely something to look forward to. Thanks for the replies.
i heard housing was going to be the first major patch post launch. are they going to test it in p4?
Arcanist is a class so you can start as one. The arcanist can become a summoner or scholar as a job.
There are 8 starting combat classes:
Archer
Gladiator
Lancer
Marauder
Pugilist
Arcanist
Conjurer
Thaumaturge
From there, you can unlock 9 jobs:
Paladin
Dragoon
Monk
Bard
Warrior
White Mage
Black Mage
Summoner
Scholar
There are also 8 crafting classes:
Alchemist
Armorer
Blacksmith
Carpenter
Culinarian
Goldsmith
Weaver
And finally three gathering classes:
Miner
Botanist
Fisherman
28 total classes with housing, farming, chocobo ranching, golden saucer, and possible tcg in the future.
why do people want marauders?
Most memorable games: AoC(Tryanny PvP), RIFT, GW, GW2, Ragnarok Online, Aion, FFXI, FFXIV, Secret World, League of Legends (Silver II rank)
Huh? Why not?
Since it will be open, I'm expecting some connections/server full issues, along with the standard open beta zone chat, filled with the usual stuff that was pretty much absent from all the previous phases....
Other than that, I'm expecting to continue having fun like I have in the previous phases, and will stick in the game as long as this feeling lasts!
Marauders is the other tank class. they hit harder than gladiators, have higher hp but take more damage and have to manage their tp differently than a gladiator. The class has defensive and other abilities that has its uses for tanking. it has the ability bloodbath which allows you to selfheal as you attack. Unlike the gladiator their magic side is horrible so your best off taking skills that will benifit you better. They will not do more dps than a dps class.
Arcansit is a class. You start it at level 1. "The 2 jobs that go from Arcanist are Summoner and Scholar.
They are the best tanks.

Since they queue in the duty finder (dungeon finder) as tanks, the queues pop and they get parties very quickly; tanks are always sought after, of course.
Why marauders and not gladiators to tank? Marauders are high damage, more AoE oriented tanks. In other words, they will be great at quickly gaining threat on and dispatching large groups of enemies at once, which is just what everyone who wants to quickly run dungeons to gain xp and loot wants.
Honestly, I'm expecting that they will be less popular as main tanks in endgame raids, and more as secondary tanks who will be assigned to pick up adds.
Agreed I'm looking forward to them having moved a lot of the things to the client side for phase 4 and launch.
Will be good to finally see the 'finished' product.
Game is still going to be restricted in Phase 4. They will open up a lot of stuff I imagine (jobs, more dungeons, etc.), but the whole game is not going to be available in Phase 4. It will be starting from Early Access though.
Devs have stated the whole game will be available for the phase four trial period. Phase four in all intents and purposes is the launch of the game as all info will be saved as long as some jackass doesnt screw things up.(Yes they call it a trial not open beta)

This is basically correct - though some things that will be in at launch they have to leave out, either for contractual reasons (voice acting in cutscenes) or because they aren't quite complete yet.
