Than you will be happy cuz it is exactly like skyrim, even the HUD if you watched the leaked video with the argonian.

I've been saying this time and again. Zenimax has a GOLDMINE at their fingertips, and it's called ELDER SCROLLS.
If the game stays as true as it can to series while at the same time taking full advantage of multiplayer features, it will win the hearts of TES and MMO fans alike.

I'm not so sure this is true. With long range, I believe the game uses soft tab targeting and that missiles will go directly to their target through other NPCs. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that is what I heard or read. In skyrim, you cannot do that.

You are right about the softlock targeting. However you still have to be aiming at that target in order to hit it, so it seems as far as combat immersion goes, it is a win/lose situation, depending on how you look at it. Im unsure though as to whether this feature only works for range, or if it works for melee as well.
I was extremely happy with how much latest stuff FELT Elder Scrolls. It looked more refined and polished than previous. I was totally connected and immersed. I really liked the way things were looking.

Think of the tab soft targeting as more like a tab priority target.. You still have to be aiming at the mob/player to hit it.

I would agree but to me they haven't stayed true to their IP's origins. I play TES games for their open world non linear gameplay and right now the game is no where near as open ended as say Skyrim.
Then again everyone plays games for different reasons and my love of open ended gameplay may not be someone else's priority so going in a more linear approach is a moot point for them. Curious question, what do you think is the most important aspect of the single player IP that needs to be implemented in the MMO to make you feel like it is an Elder Scrolls game?
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

Well you'll get a different response for every person you ask.
But for me, there's no one thing that defines an Elder Scrolls game. It's really a combination of elements that if done just right, creates an experience like no other. I think it was its creator Todd Howard who said "define the experience." Everything from the deep lore, to the elegant artstyle, the epic questing, the medieval references, the beautiful background music-- All that just makes you feel like you are there, fully immersed in the moment and lost in the world. And none of it is overdone either- despite a plethora of fantasy elements, it still manages to remain utterly realistic and believable.
But to answer your question if I had to pick 1 thing in an Elder Scrolls game, it's the atmosphere and the environment. The world is just so rich and full of possibilities. There are not many games I know of that can say that.

Sorry but you are uninformed if you think this type of combat hasn't been used in a mmo before, if anything DarkFall's combat is way closer to TES.

Having to aim doesn't get away from the fact that the game has a targeting system and nope it's not exactly like Skyrim.

Even with a targeting system it doesnt mean you can target something or someone and not have to keep your crosshairs on them. You can still hit other things even while having something else targeted. If Skyrim had a soft target system its combat wouldnt be much different .. Projectiles could still be dodged..ect.
