Poll: Who thinks making polls is a way of "baiting people into posting negative responses"?

So I got in trouble for this thread http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/390289/Poll-Do-you-want-more-EQN-polls.html

which any normal human being can see as a satirical and sarcastic way of making a point that people are making a poll on everything EQ related. Clearly such a thing is harmless and is in fact how many points about society are made in everyday life (even shows which are highly successful and win Emmys every year take this approach as people can relate to the point being made more easily).

 

So since polls are the way to go, who thinks that it is "baiting people into posting negative responses" as opposed to harmless point making?  And who thinks because they have no idea how to moderate forums I'll be banned for making this clearly horribly evil post right now?

Personally, I find many of these 'polls' or even OP are redundant and even though they seem to have a decent question, the lack of discussion from the OP leaves me thinking they were meant for something other than serious discussion.

 I agree with how the vast majority of those poll threads go, which is why I made that other thread to highlight that point. At least someone got it.

 I am aware that in a world of infinite free e-mail accounts and a forum site that is attached to nothing other than a random free e-mail somewhere that a ban is fairly meaningless.

 

I'm also aware that such over the top moderation really shouldn't just be ignored as it is a big reason why so many decent people have gone away from this site over the years and we're left with a group that makes 14 different polls on a game that they don't have any information on while they fuel the hype train as it speeds toward an inevitable derailment of epic proportions.

 

I did put in the option of Enjoy your new ban though, seems like a perfect choice for you.

i think i left for almost a year b/c of it at one point.

 

it seems particularly bad if you are up late/early on EST. whoever has overnight watch is they are incredibly sensitive and touchy.
