Free Trial/Recruit a Friend/ Any way to try out the game before spending money?

I've been looking at GW 2 for awhile now, and I still can't justify paying buying it at full price unless I either absolutely know I'll like it (impossible), try it out for myself, or it goes on super sale for at most $20. I've heavily googled free trial, so I don't think it exist, but is there a way for me to be recruited and possibly try it out for free for a day or two just to see if I might want to buy it?

They do rarely have little free weakend trials though its only every so often. For them, they want people to impulse by to take in a large sum of cash ahead of time, thus if someone doesn't like it, they still get that cash income even if the person leaves. Its a B2P tactic to maximize profit, nothing unique to GW2 mind you.

Just be patient and wait for the rare free week end. Its a game if you dedicate a few hours to you can quickly evaluate if you like the game or hate it since it doesn't change much at all from start to finish, specially once you have all your skills (~at level 30).

More bullshit ...if you don't like the game you can get a full refund ,,,Hundreds of posters have come to these very forums and stated they had no problem getting refunds even after having played for months

Sincerelly, you will get the best "dollar/time playing" ratio than a lot of other games. There is no subscription, if you find the game boring after some time, you can stop to play it with no problems. But the time you will have playing it will compensate what you paid for the game.

Anyway, I don't think you will see free trials soon. Anet is not merging servers after one year after launch, the gem store is making a good profit and soon they will launch at China. They are not desperate for find new players. However, maybe you be lucky and for GW2 birthday  they give us a free weekend or an "invite a friend" promo... or not.

Colin recently hinted that there might be some trial weekend soon. I think they might release some bigger patch for 1 year anniversary and give a free weekend with it. Wait a week or two and we should have some news about it.

If you "can't justify paying full price" unless "it goes on super sale for at most $20",  then really we don't want your kind playing GW2.  You can view all  the gameplay you'd like on Youtube, check the Metacritic scores, and even just read player experiences.   However, what you're currently doing is already judging the game and devaluing it prior to doing ANY of that, let alone playing the damned thing.  For that, I say that you're over-bloated with your own self opinionated ways.

P.S. If you've truly searched everywhere, then you'd know that indeed this game has no "Free Trial" or "Recruit-a-Friend" program running right now.

Download the digital copy was only £19.99, was well worth it imo.

That site is an unofficial dealer and a scammer place that sells stolen keys and/or keys bought with stolen credit cards.    Once the cardholder reverses the charge, A.net finds out through a chain of command, and BAM!, the account is permabanned.   They don't reverse accounts permabanned that are bought from 3rd party unofficial sites that may or may not be dealing in stolen goods.   Good luck with that.

You shouldn't believe everything that metacritic says.Their arbitrary 100 score system and retarded algorithm
