Awesome fun!!! Cannot remember the last Hard mmorpg!

drtack1drtack1 Member UncommonPosts: 273

I bought the game finally! I have to admit I am having a blast!

I enjoy the fact that you can eventually learn every skill in game, constantly earning SP and AP! It is so cool combining skills and passives from here and there to make different builds for different situations!

To top it off I actually got pissed off today because I felt so weak and under geared going into the next map/scene. I felt so weak and helpless, then I messed around with my build and BAM!!!! I am progressing! Sure is fun to actually get pissed off because this and that is hard! Cannot remember the last time an mmo had me pissed off because it was hard!!!

HAVING SO MUCH FUN!!!! Sorry GW2, looks like I wont be playing with you much in the near future!

I agree!i fell the same about this game!you have the wrong build, outch you can progress but every fight will be epic!exemple:hand to hand combat with zombie!i wont spoil the fun but it can be daunting!also don't ignore the difficulty level of the quest!if it says hard you probably should find the easy one!(the easiest of each map start is usually where the portal is (for the world tree thingy)love this game!

If only the combat were good :/

The bad animations and combat put me off, most unresponsive mmo I've ever played.

yeah same here. I loved the game world, the quests, the atmosphere . but the combat and animations were horrible

I personally feel the combat and animations are fine....do not really see a dif between TSW and GW2 in terms of combat animations

Though I no longer play GW2 and found there to be much more to do in TSW than GW2 at endgame, you can't even compare the animations in  both games...GW2 takes that one hands down.

Animation are like architecture they are not a clear cut science, they are not right or wrong.

there is some people that like "old european" style building some people like "classic" some people like "modern"

Some people see a modern architecture and say "EEEEHWWWWW" so ugly a monster in the middle of the city...

    When actually ther are not.

Animation are the same they are a cross over between art and technique and very sensitive to personal taste.

Add the fact that "cartoonish animation" doesn't tend to imitate reality so they have a bigger degree of freedom they are easier to do as they don't need to necessary reflect what we see everyday we are way more forgiving over something we cannot compare.

Look at one orange... is nice look at 2 orange you will say this one look better then the other one.

Those haters above see an orange and an apple and are trying to convince you that apple are better looking.

    [mod edit]

Just try it (3 day free) and judge for yuorself the animation. Lot of people think they are fine some think they are pretty some think some could be better...

Whenever I see complaints about the animation I feel like I'm playing a completely different game than everyone else. Not saying combat is perfect but it feels fine, and yes some of the animations are kind of cheesy but is it really the first thing you're thinking about when you're trying to take down mobs?

If people would look past it and support the game for the uniqueness it offers then they might actually have enough resources to fix it and then some.

If it were less clunky and un-responsive it'd be good, the bad animations could be put up with.

TSW is not hard, you just didn't know how to build your character at first. Once you know what you're doing (which really only takes a few hours) it's pretty simple tab target with avoiding targeted abilities.

How is it unresponsive and clunky? I still don't feel it.

Do NOT confuse hard, with "time consuming", or "lack of knowledge". There are tons of games that are harder than TSW by design and application, although, not as fun... and hence the true goal: Hard enough to still be fun.

While I have to admit TSW is not bad as far mmorpgs go, its still as casual as the rest of its brethren, its neither time consuming or difficult.

just curiosity ,what is wrong with combat?

Personal ,I can't noticed nothing bad?

few people think that combat in MMORPG should be similar to FPS games and they are very vocal in forums

that's why they say combat is not good true is combat is not what they want it to be that is different then saying not good

actually TSW combat is very strategic in a way an heavily group based so those FPS lovers that actually tend to be 1vs1 type of player run away after then understood that certain built cannot win vs their counter built no matter how much skill of gear you throw at it.

the like everybody being the same everybody having same gear everybody having a 50%-50% chance on win in 1vs1 but that is the concept behind a FPS not behind a RPG

Just ignore them everything that is not what they like is bad... it's like if i like Car simulation game and i see a airplane simulation game and i say is bad because u cannot drift and the airplane is not as reactive as a car....

It is a bit harder MMO than most nowadays.

Some quests are REALLY tough, but with a little bit of patience and tactic you are able to solo every single quest even the ones marked HARD with QL10 green gear.

The occasional lag-spikes aside, it's not unresponsive. Some people have unrealistic demands and expectations.

Yup, can't say the animations are neither better or worse compared to the average mmorpg. The world design, quests and stories are, however, clear winners. Time to boot it up again, its been a while.

Actually, the times this game really pissed me off were numerous, (I played a tank build) and remains one of my fonder memories of it.

Shame the uninspiring end game cut my time there to a very short interval.

I'm surprised the end-game didn't appeal to you. Have you done Nightmare dungeons and any of the DLCs? I'm having a blast in end-game as there are so many build combinations and challenges.

on top of that it is still plagued by most of the bugs it had from launch and several new ones. the chat and community server(friend list, guild list) still crash daily. TSw is not a niche MMO, it is a failed mass market MMO.
