Wow.. huge # of questions. May be better to split them up so people can more easily answer them.
Is there any in-game customer support? - No. I suspect the /bug submission still works, but I don't think there's anyway to get help from NCSoft in game. For questions about the game or what to do, where to find something, etc, use chat.
Do skills have a level requirement? - Don't think so, but I believe some skills are only available in certain areas, where to get there you'll have to be at a certain level.
Is there player crafting? - There are crafters that will take your raw materials that you find/salvage and make/improve stuff for you
What is gained each time you level up? You get a skill point to spend on a new skill and 5 attribute points.
Are quests story driven? Are they repetitive? - The main quests are all story driven and seem to flow linearly. The explorable areas could tend to be repetetive in the sense that it's a area with specific monsters and topography. Repetetive doesn't necessarily mean 'not fun'
Any permanent death effects (i.e. losing xp)? - No. Once back in the village, you death penalty goes away.
What is the incentive for PVP? Are there rewards?
Are there castles or guild halls? If so, can they be sieged?
Are the dungeons all instances or dynamic zones? Any static dungoens?
Is there a raid group feature?
Are there any siege weapons available?
Any player housing? - No.
Do you zone from one area to another or is it seamless? - Not sure what you mean. You can literally walk from one are to another, fighting along the way each time, or you can use your map and teleport to any location you've already established.
How many continents or islands are there? - Not sure. What difference would it make?
Is there boats or riders for travel between towns or lands? - No, you use the map and 'teleport'.
Are there quest rewards? Are they worth the time questing for it? - The quests are how you get from one area to the next. You generally get XP and sometimes a weapon on the side quests.
Is there non-PvP servers or areas? - You have to go specifically looking for PVP, but there are no 'servers' in the traditional sense.
Is there a limit on how many spells or skills you can have at one time? - You can learn an unlimited amount, but you have to choose only 8 to bring into the mission/quest/battle. Oh.. and you can only bring 1 elite skill.
Are the enviroments lush and engaging? - uh.. to me yeah.
Is there a lot of grinding? - No.
Are item drops random or static? - Seem random. Sometimes the monsters don't even drop anything.
Do you choose a profession at character creation? - You choose a primary profession at start, then learn your 2nd profession before going to the Academy.
Can you have skills that are not of your profession? If so, what is to gain by selecting a profession? You can have skills of both your primary and secondary profession, so by choosing a profession, you are basically deciding what skills and armor you will be allowed.
Hope this helps and that I didn't get anything wrong.
1. I haven't needed any support, so hard to say.
2. No level req for skills, however: Of the "library" of skills you can eventually aquire (and there are hundreds), you can only have 8 active at a given time, so choose wisely based on situation and what kind of team you're in. Also, some skills are "elite". You can only have 1 elite skills active at a time.
3. Each level, you get a skill point, 5 attribute points, and more life. After level 20, you are capped for life and attributes, but continue to gain more skill points. (skill points do not equal the "power" of the skill. You spend the point to learn the skill in the first place)
4. No player crafting, but there are NPC crafters.
5. Story driven, the main ones at least. Then there are tons of miscallaneous quests which may or may not be related to the story.
6. You lose 15% of life and energy for each death. No item/exp loss. Death pentalties are not permanent, but isntead last only while in a given instance/mission. They can seriously handicap you and make things a lot harder. You can, however, redeem the penalty during the mission by continuing to kill your foes ..without dying anymore.
7. There are different types of pvp available. There are random-mached Arenas, a multi-stage tournament in the Tombs, and GvG battles. GvG is for the guild ladder, Tombs earns you personal fame (in points) including rank and a "sigil" to show everyone the symbol of your earned fame.
8. Guilds can aquire their own guild hall. GvG battles consist of one side attacking, and one defending. Though, really, it's more like both sides attacking to control the middle (strategically important area).
9. All "fighting" zones are instanced. Towns and outposts are public.
10. If you mean what I think you do, then no.
11. Yes, there are catapults at least. In pve and gvg. They are pretty much instant death to any number of enemies caught in the blast.
12. Guild hall, that's about it. No individual housing, no point.
13. It's all zones ..usually very big zone.
14. I can think of at least 3 continents/islands. There are many different kinds of environments.
15. You always get experience for quests, and often items. And of course the primary quests/missions advance you to new areas and move the story along.
16. There are 3 types of areas: public/persistent, pve, pvp.
17. Yes, refer to #3
18. Yes, the environments are very lush and engaging. Compelling, even.
19. No, they were aiming to keep grinding to a minimum.
20. Random item drops
21. Yes, you choose your primary profession upon creation. Early on when playing, you have the option to take up a secondary profession as well.
22. Yes, refer to #21. You have your primary class/skills/attributes, and then secondaries. You can use skills however you want. You can take a primary class just for their main attribute if you like, and have all your skills be of the secondary profession. There's a seemingly unlimited number of ways to make and to play your character.
