Smart AI or just an Illusion?

To be honost I am quit amazed with the AI of the chosen. Okay sometimes it's easy kill. But often when free and able to play on early hours where the map is covered with Chosen.

I had many instances where a few chosen actually where hunting me, taking cover, jumping away, flanking, I get scared when hearing sniper zoom from well.....snipers.

Just seeing what the AI does when you try and run away, shoot at them just makes me feel it's a pretty smart-AI, only games that come close to that feeling are mainly a few singleplayer games like HalfLife, Farcry, Max Payne type of games.

What do you think, is it smart AI or just a illusion.

I have read comments saying some dislike the AI cause of a aiming hack, well I'd say there is no aim-hack, else I never would have stood any change against the chosen. Are they able to really pin point your location, sure, same like a player is able to.

I do not know if I would say the AI is smart, they seem to have a dodge animation that they use when being attacked, and chosen keep spawning more of their own around them with melding portals.  I do find them fun to play against though, since the different classes behave in different ways.  IE the engineer spawns drones and tries to keep his distance from you, shielding up with his drones and shielding himself when he is almost dead, while the juggernaut charges right for you, while the siegebreaker bombards you until you get close range... when he charges you.  They are consistently enjoyable to play against.  The same goes for the non chosen AI, the game does a very good job of varying up how mobs act, making battles with lots of different types of enemies a fun kind of chaos.

I do not think there is an aiming hack, just people that do not move around very quickly getting picked off.  From personal experience playing against snipers they seem to have a maximum speed at which they can turn, and if you can make them try to turn quicker than that they will not hit you.

One of the redeeming qualities of Firefall to me is the fact that Chosen can pretty much do anything that a player can do. They even use the skills of their class just like players ! I wish more MMOs would do this.
