Players Who Bought the 1.0 Version

I have a question and it seems I cannot get a straight answer.

My wife and I bought Final Fantasy XIV When it came out and decided not to play after the issues that the original game had. Now we are wanting to try the Realm Reborn, but I cannot figure out if I have to buy something, update something, or what, to get the new game installed and play. Since we bought 2 Collectors Editions, do we get access to the early play date? Do we get the in game items? Do I have to buy something else to play this game we have already purchased? I just need a straight answer and sitting on the phone for 1.2 hours with nobody answering my call is kinda insulting.

Unless you and your wife payed for 3 months in order you do not have Legacy status which does not net you early access. But you will get all the 2.0 CE items plus an Onion knight helm for being a 1.0 CE owner. If will get the 14 or 15 days free (answer escapes me) when it launched to decide if you wanna sub. So in essence you get 2.0 for free minus the early access and pre order items. If you do purchase 2.0 copies you will get early access, the preorder items, and the standard 30 day new box sub added to your free 14 days.

Playing: FFXIV, DnL, and World of Warships
    Waiting on: Ashes of Creation

Early access for you: - No (needed to sub 1.0 for 3mnths)

Goodies due to having the CE: - Yes you will get those

Download of game - Not sure someone else can answer that ( I grabbed the 4.0 beta final test client which will update)

Start date - 27th for you.. you get 12 days free play as well till needing to sub

You will probably need to go to the service management of the original 1.0 for Square enix and reactivate the service as it was auto cancelled when 1.0 died in december.

I don't know if you alraidy have your answer but I hope this would help.

I tryed to get the exact info but the forum is down for the launch.

But they say. If you alraidy have an account of theold ff14, you'll be able to play directly to ARR without buying anything but you probably won't have all your stuff, acheivment and money you had from your old game.

    Wish you luck.

Everything when playing beta 4 which was a no wipe beta I had all my items money etc from 1.0 still.. and that still stands on release.

Even when I had to rehire my retainers they appeared with all items from 1.0 on them..

so yes you should keep anything you had, all that changed was is they altered names of some items so you will have clothes or tools with a prefix type name infront of it and an red X to show it was the old style items, these still work but once busted they are done, no repairing them.

Ok, so I'm in the same boat as the OP. Purchased 1.0 CE, played a few months, quit. I did re-sub like a year ago to see what changed in anticipation for 2.0, but I never got legacy status.

So, from what I gather, I do not need to repurchase the game, can reuse my 1.0 account, can get CE items, but do not get early access. However, I keep seeing that you can purchase an early access code?

I've checked amazon, etc. but I don't see where this can be purchased. Someone linked some sketchy website in another post, but I don't trust it.

Anyone have any info on this?

Im also a 1.0 player without legacy, all u have to do to get early access is go to amazon and pre order a copy for ps3, they will send u a early access code right away to your email. Enter the code then cancel your amazon order and bam u have early access. This is what i did and it works.

If u do this though when u get to the screen to enter your code choose pc as platform if that is what u want to play on.
