I really don't understand this game.

I'm a blast so far with my first day in Firefall but after I logged off I feel that this game is missing something. A hook. It seems that there is no point in doing anything in this game. Why bother upgrading my gear when I can do nearly all the content in the game with just the basic noob frame? Its not like there are super dangerous areas in the game world where I can't tread or dungeons that I can't complete. Random events happens and I rush to complete them or if I can't tackle an event alone, sooner or later a zerg of people will show up and a slaughter ensues.

 

So far almost everything I do in this game complete themselves. What is the point of doing anything at all??

While the game is considered "released" at the moment in the eyes of many (including this site) the developers consider it to be in beta, so much of the game is still not implemented at this time. You are right that pretty much everything can be done in the stock, Accord frames and there is little need to improve. That being said, a second tier frame with crafted gear is immensely powerful and quite a bit of fun to play.

There was a recent announcement that the game is entering into its second phase of open beta and with that we can expect some new features that will (hopefully) give the game more of a "point" as you say.

After the last update things are not so easy or simple. A tier one player will be wiped out by a death squad and Chosen encounters are much more fierce. It will most likely take at least a tier 3 player to do the coming fort battles.
