So just a few questions (PS3 version.)

Are the servers all connected so PS3 and PC players all play together, and thus both experiencing login difficulties the same? 

 

Willl a CC be required to register for the free month on PS3? I planned to use time cards and my CC is capped for a while. This is assuming time cards aren't available yet (are they?).

 

Depending on the answers, is it worth or even possible for me to buy FFXIV now and play?

PC/PS3 are cross platform, and no CC activation is required for the first month of play.

No, I have my free month on my PS3 CE and haven't had to enter any CC information.

You can also pay with a SE currency called Cryta or something - and that is what you are going to be able to purchase via store cards at some point here.

Thanks guys. Is it safe to say then, that it'll be rough to log in and not worth getting right away? Or should i go for it anyway and see what happens?

I've been playing just fine. it was a little rough at first but i patiently waited, got on the server i wanted, and now i just get to log right in. Our experiences may differ though. If you would feel safer waiting a week then go ahead. SE stated, by next week, their will be more servers and higher capacity.

Man, really wish I would have knoqn they were flat out not accepting anymore characters on NA servers. I tried to start anyway, and they threw me on this Ridill (Legacy) JP server. I wonder if they'll give free character transfers when new servers are out...

Eh, probably not. Oh well. Looks like a week of killing time ahead.

My advice look at the lists they keep announcing.  If the server you want to be on is on the list a lot don't even buy the game yet :P.
