Level 18, question about combat

just ran Sastasha as a Marauder. Tanked, it was easy for me, but having been a tank in MMO's since BC of WoW, it wasn't hard to get the hang of. My only problem with this was how slow the combat felt. Now, I know i'm only level 18, I know end game changes a lot, but what really hurts is the long GCD. I felt like I was waiting forever to trying use my next skill.

My question, does combat get or feel faster? Honestly after about the 5th or 6th pulls, I was ready to quit because of how slow it felt. So far I don't mind the combat pace, but in a group when you have to grab a stray mob and you are waiting 2.5secs to push a button, if just feel like forever.

by 18 you have your skills other than the cross class skills which help...but don't change the process much.

 

There are skill speed +s on gear but last I check I think a +6 took .01 seconds off so even if you stack it in end game gear you aren't going to see a lot of decrease on the GCD.

 

If that gets better or is different for tanks (I am a bard) apologies for the confusion
