But when they do that same thing over and over and over again, going back on something they said, that is something else entirely.
And no one can SOE has not done that very thing, regardless of the motivation.
And I do NOT believe SOE cares if the community is "involved in the process", because the community is not involved in the process in any meaningful way, SOE is just trying to make it appear that they are.
And that is called Marketing/PR.
+1, many of us have been playing SOE games since 1999, we've seen how SOE deals with things. I've also played Planetside 2 hardcore earlier this year, saw what their "roadmap" really means. There were things that got such negative votes, yet developers still kept pushing for them and still said they plan on releasing them. There were items & weapons released into the game that made no sense, but SOE did so because they know overpowered and badly balanced items will get fotm players to spend the cash. p.s. Implants are still going in, SOE simply pushed the release of them back because they are focused on optimizing the game's performance (still, a year later, using the same Forgelight engine they'll be using with EQN).
