I just recently got a 4770k, along with an asus z87 plus motherboard, and I was trying to figure out how to overclock the CPU. On the AMD I had, it was pretty simple, just change the multiplier and it would change the default clock rate. On this processor in the bios however, I cannot figure out how to change the default speeds of the processor. I cannot find any multiplier option to adjust.
The bios looks like this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr3WT46qsS8
I can adjust the turbo speed, and not the default clock speed of the processor. I might be missing something obvious here, but I cant find the multiplier value to adjust.
Where would I go to change the default clock speeds of the intel 4770k in the asus z87 plus motherboard?

Did you pay attention to that video around 7:30? I think it explains at that point, but I had my sound off. You might also want to start at 6:10.
If you didn't figure it out, you get to that screen by going into the advanced mode.
Well, for starters, you don't have to go into the BIOS - Asus Suite lets you overclock inside of Windows -- which is handy, because you can turn it on when you need it, and turn of it off when you don't. That makes the system quieter, reduces the power use, puts off less heat, and more importantly, saves on your CPU life.
Pretty much you just click the Overclock button on that software, and it does it's thing. It may not get 100% perfect optimization, but it can probably get you 75% of the way there with no fidgeting or trial&error.
Inside the BIOS, to do this permanently, you can just flip the AI Overclock Tuner on to one of it's various settings . Or, if you want to do trial&error, flip it to manual and commence to tweaking. CPU Core Ratio is the main parameter you want to tweak for OCing, BCLK alone usually doesn't have much headroom.

Make sure you have a good cooler, Haswells will run very hot when trying to OC.
Yeah I saw, but that's not the CPU ratio, that's the cache ratio. It doesn't effect the base clock rate of the cpu, it affects the cache rate.
And thanks for the AI suite advice, ill look into that.
