Housing! Yess! New WORLD, not continent, yesss!

I think they said just one.

    From their updated panel:

Mythic is a new difficulty harder than heroic with a 20 player fixed size.

Holy hell...WoW's heoric raid fights are already some of the mechaniclly hardest fights ever in any MMO.....this is going to be crazy...

    Garrison copied Rift's Dimensions.

Craft from bank copied from GW2.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but just acknowledging it.

    LOL

Really?  Rift dimensions?  Which, for the record, were a direct copy of EQ2 housing.

As opposed to a natural expansion of something already in WoW (Sunsong ranch)?

Not saying they don't look to other games for inspiration, any smart developer does that (AoE looting is one thing that probably did come from Rift).  But to think that WoW's housing came from Rift is pretty ridiculous.

I would assume (yeah, I know) that it will be the same 39.99 as all of the other expansions.

    • Garrosh is creating the Iron Horde, but he only sets things in motion, he isn't the main bad guy. He is trying to open a portal to the current time to come back for his revenge.
    • Draenor is a very savage world, so you can become a savage yourself or work with your own faction to avoid doing so.
    • The Draenei will react to the savage world, looking at important points in their history.
    • The Frostwolf Clan is still in the early stages, not working together very well yet.
    • The team went through many iterations to figure out how the Warlords would be brought back. Garrosh was originally going to go back to Outland and resurrect the Warlords, but that concept didn't work out well.
    • This isn't a time travel expansion, time travel is just a tool to explain the ongoing story. It isn't being used to massively change the current timeline. The past is fine!
    humz.

i don't get the entire story. Garrosh escapes and goes to the old world of dreanor to get those orcs to fight his revenge.
so he is in fact time traveling.

but its not a time-travel expansion? what is it then?

If anything, the crafting changes were ripped from SWTOR, not GW2.

As a matter of fact, there are more things ripped from SWTOR in this xpac than any other 1 game (new zone dedicated to pvp only, a la ilium....being able to gain companions who will live at your base.....having said companions gather resources for you, having said companions craft for you etc).

He goes back in time in Dreanor (different realm) and tries to invade Azeroth present day through the dark portal in said back in time dreanor. The other end of the portal is present day Azeroth. Outlands and Azeroth are unchanged.

I for one am not a big fan of RTS but I will give it a shot. The rest of the features look pretty interesting, especially the making things more eye appealing.

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

This is hilarious because SWTOR is clone of WoW. It's WoW with a Star Wars skin over it. Also this post is funny in that it suggests SWTOR was the first game to have PvP zones.

This post is funny because you are trying to detract everyones attention away from the fact that they are completely copying Ilium, by saying that I implied SWTOR invented "PVP Zones". And also, how does SWTOR being a WoW clone in any way detract from the fact that WoW is copying companions, and companion functions, directly from SWTOR?

I think someone is upset that SWTOR has more things getting copied than other MMOs...

Lols does ilum even work? I remember it being removed because it was a lagfest failure.

If anything they are copying rift more, throw in the more "dynamic" zones being implemented.

Swtor doesnt even have housing, ships dont count.

No, ilium doesn't work, they pretty much deactivated the PVP area of it...it was a broken mess due to insanly bad performance of the hero engine. That doesn't change the fact that this new seamless consistant PVP area in WoW is a direct copy of what Ilium was.

I never said or implied everything in the new xpac is taken from SWTOR...I said it took more things from SWTOR than any other one MMO, which, if you read all of what I listed, is 100% accurate.

Its also a stretch to imply that the upcoming housing was inspired by rift, and not SWG, EQ2, LORTO. or even wildstar.

    Please stop twisting my words...

I was pretty stoked to hear about a trailer for the new expansion.  After seeing it, I was a little let down.  It didn't hook me.  I guess I need to stop comparing the trailers to the one for WotLK.

Its a stretch to say that the upcoming housing was inspired by any MMO's housing.  Housing was a long time player request.  They are doing it their own way, its unlike any (AAA at least) housing model out there.

First thing i thought of actually was Suikoden, with gathering followers for your garrison.

well thats really simple to explain i geus.

TBC : OMG have you seen that? illidan wtf!

WOTLK : :WoW arthas wow i cant believe we are going to kill him!

Cata: Deathwing a baddass among badasses. same story

    MoP: wait what? pandas... what?

WoD: Theres an orc. and another and hey a bunch of orcs. and qe are continuing the quarl we ended in MoP......

The trailer itself using ingame characters instead of cinemetic issnt bad i kinda like it altho blizzard cinematics would have blown us away. I think it has alot more to do with the info its telling.

Tried the last expansion and just could not get back into the game.  Probably won't even bother with this one.
  • BruceYeeBruceYee Member EpicPosts: 2,556

I hope they're planning some type of server merge before this comes out because the servers I played on are empty.

I'll prob check it out though.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was the final expansion.
