GroovyFlowerGroovyFlower Member Posts: 1,245

Just bought myself a new monitor LG 27ea83r 5ms 2560x1440 monitor(wait for new videocard 290)

My old monitor was 1920 so prolly my pc still only reconize this resolution. When i go to config panel i only have 1920 as option or in catalyst centre same only 1920?

How can i switch to perma 2560 resolution?

Also try uniginebenchmark (offcorse it won't work lol if my pc dont even reconized hehe) and when i try run it on 2560 it auto switch back to 1920.

My videocard at moment is AMD 7970.

Anybody know solution or can tell me whats going on?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this will help. Doesn't seem to make sense to me either, but when I upgraded from a 1080 monitor to an 1152 (not really a huge jump, I know), my PC wouldn't recognize the new resolution until I went and changed the aspect ratio and refresh rate. My old monitor was a 16:9 x 60 hrz just like my new, but fidgeting with those setting, just briefly, opened up the increased resolution option.

Are you using the proper d-dvi cable? If not that is most likely your problem.

Yeh ive solved it hdmi and dvi dont support the 2560.

so i used the display port cable also with the monitor shipped and i got 2560 resolution now:)

    Thx guys for replying:)
