Lego Minifigures Online officially launches in 2014, but some players will be able to try out the game ahead of time. Developer Funcom (The Secret World, Age of Conan) announced today that players can now sign up for a chance to participate in the upcoming closed game.

The Lego Minifigures Online closed beta is described as an "ongoing process," with more players added to the mix as more game content and features are introduced for testing.

To register for the Lego Minifigures Online closed beta, players need only provide their email address and date of birth. Those selected will be notified via email. Funcom did not say when the closed beta will begin.

An open beta will also be available for ahead of launch. All players are guaranteed access.

Funny thing is that it seems like a natural evolution of Lego Universe as it was before they shut that one down. That is a good thing becourse LU turned into a good game at the end, my youngest loved it and still asks when this one is going to release.

And to be honest, as an adult, I had a great time with LU in the end, so yeah, i'll be back too.

Really interested in this game as the lego games have been a lot of fun for me and my friends! Nice to have a game that's light hearted and makes you feel like a kid again.

I can't wait to play.  I loved Lego Universe.  I still have dreams of playing it.  

Lego may seem to be for kids, but the humor and creativity will win your heart and the quests will strain your brain.

I'm happy for you that you got a Beta key.  I know you are having fun.

I was hoping that since I played Lego Universe Beta, and then gladly paid a monthly subscription fee when the game launched,  that I would be accepted for this Beta.  I will still keep hoping.

I was disappointed when i saw Lego Chima. Luckily i saw this trailer for Minifigures and it's all i hoped for!
