Not giving up yet but so far I find this game so underwhelming that I can't see myself play it. It is a massively dumbed down version of MTG which is behind the times compared to something like MMDOC at this point. The fact here are no combat lanes and no blocking in general outside of Taunt creatures is a huge turnoff. I really hope I'm wrong here but from the tiny sample I've played this game is one of the worst trading card games on the market.

You're not wrong. Everyone i knew that was waiting so anxiously for their beta key or even those who bought them played like crazy for the first week, past that they all said the game is stale and not all that deep.

There are countless CCG on Kongregate.com a flash game website that are better and more indepth than Hearthstone. It's sad.

it's a good light game but i also lost interest after the first week on the PC

more features will probably be added

and the game is coming to tablets which are better suited for light games

Don't know what you're going on about.  This is a fine game.   I've been playing for 4 months and I still play a few games everyday.  Haven't spent a dime.

What a waste of a beta key.

Its not a trading card game for one thing, its a CCG, not a TCG.

i play MTG, I also play Might and Magic, HS is different, its a much better game for the casual player, its much faster and far more enjoyable.

Honestly for a long time card gamer this is the most enjoyable card game I have played for a decade.

You say dumbed down, I say streamlined. Still, if it's not for you, it's not for you.

Expresso gave me a Hearthstone beta key.....I'm so happy :)

Waste of a beta key aside....(given that im pretty sure with how many keys people are giving away everyone that -wants- to play is playing) sad fact is there's a bunch of CCG that outclass hearthstone in everything but art on whatever favorite flash game website you choose. Just have a look yourself on Kongregate or Armorgames. Given that this was spawned from Blizzard it should have had a LOT more features going for it and should have been just ...better overall.

Now i'm not saying its bad, i'm just saying i was expecting more. It is a nice little game but the sad fact is, i think Blizzard intended people to play this competitively and it just...really has very little staying power or reason to play competitively at all.

There will be expansions, new cards, new boards, new heroes, new classes among other things.  I guess you sorta expected the level of depth that magic has after all these years from a fresh Card game that favors the casual.  I think the arena is one reason the game will have staying power.  As for the competitive side, meh.  Crafting decks is cool, but I still think the big thing for HS is Arena.

And I'd like to point out that there WILL be more people playing/spending money (at least online sales) of hearthstone compared to other online card games.  It will be eaten up for its casual side.

Adding new cards, boards, heroes, classes isn't adding depth. That's adding more stuff to play with. Unless you mean adding new card types(trap cards, field cards), adding new battle systems(like raids, story quests(and im not talking about the stupid daily quest bs they have)), and etc. THATS adding depth to a game.

The sad thing is the arena is not "one reason" the game has staying power, its the ONLY reason the game has any staying power, which is problem number 1. Also who said i expected it to have the level of depth that MTG had? I was comparing it to other CCG on Kongregate and Armorgames. So don't get my words twisted.

This game simply follows the trend.

Becoming easy to play and pick up, easy to play on a 15min time window.

This is exactly what the broad masses seem to want. Sure you might not agree and for sure I don't agree, but the numbers (read dollars) obviously speak another truth. Blizzard has been known for great games with depth, now they are known for great games that lack depth but please a huge audience. Another audience then before (and that is a problem for the "old" audience obviously), but a bigger one willing to spend more money.

Us old gamers that "only" spend a monthy sub don't count as much anymore, because the FTP market simply makes more cash and is alot easier to please as well. Developers get around with medicore games every day and still make a hell of a profit with them.

You may not like this and i don't like this. But we would all do the same if it was our investment. Sad truth hurts, but nothing is going to change that anytime soon. Time to move to other hobbys as a real gamer and leave the field for the candy crush crowd.

MMOs finally replaced social interaction, forced grouping and standing in a line while talking to eachother.

Now we have forced soloing, forced questing and everyone is the hero, without ever having to talk to anyone else. The evolution of multiplayer is here! We won,... right?

Looks like blizzard is trying to dumb down another genre of games.  whats next ?  a moba that has 2 skills and moves your character for you?

I dont get it why are you so mad people? This game doesnt pretend to be deep. Not everyone has enough time and interest to learn complicated Card Games. Sole fact that this is going to be released on mobile devices means it is supposed to be time passer while you use public transport or taking poop after thanksgiving.

I didint have chance to play it yet but from what i've seen it looks like it does its job very well. Dilvers you fast and uncomplicated fun then you need some.

just stop trying to be a blizzard fanboy. they came out with an inferior product and thats that. which is sad. that there are numerous CCG on flash game websites that blow hearthstone out of the water. and don't even pretend to claim that those games are complicated.

and no, where the fuck is your logic? "the sole fact that its going to be released on mobile devices means its just a time passer" dude....games are being ported to mobile devices more because of the number of people with..mobile devices. it's not because they're meant as time wasters. why the heck do you think square was thinking about making a FFXV game on mobile device. Because its a largely untapped consumer base as far as bigname game companies go.

Here's a key, grab it while you can 3542816933187356696515031 - maybe one of the above haters will take it and actualy play the game before commenting on it, a novel and most unusual thought I know.

Another attempt by bli$$ard to fleece money from its franchise. Sadly I do not buy into their crap offering and imo it will be another gold sellers opportunity to print rtm which I feel blizzard has failed to prevent. I've never bought any of their games and have no intentions of doing so with this poor idea either.

It's a fun short time waster, but lacks the depth that games like Hex are bringing to the table.

Don't get high hopes, played it a week and I was done...
