So...Greed Monger?

Here is a game which was being hyped like crazy and now seems to have plummeted off the radar.

Anyone have a status update? Was this really a scam or is anything actually happening?

    They're still working on it. One of the lead devs comes buy and posts an update every few months. It's far from gone and wasn't a scam. From what they've shown they've put a lot of work into it. It's a small team though so it's slow going.

    It's off the radar for a reason, the Devs chose to withdraw from this site except as mentioned for one developer who shares pics and status updates on an occasional basis.

    Near as I can tell, progress is being made, but these games take time as we all know.

    Greed Monger was removed from MMORPG.com after Greed Monger devs asked MMORPG.com to remove negative posts about their game from the forums and threatened with a lawsuit.

    The latest update I saw on it showcased some average environment visuals and some pretty low end character models. At the very start I was excited for this game to be made but over time I have loosely been following it and slowly loosing interest as its just another attempt to break free from the theampark model by indie devs.

    Basically nothing new or groundbreaking to keep my interest peaked, also any company who can not accept negative comments no matter how bad just screams trouble.

    LOL- Yeah I remember all that, that is how I found out about this game (there were a couple threads which were hilarious)

    I was more wondering about progress towards a alpha/beta and wasnt trying to bring up all the drama surrounding this game.

     

    Last I can recall I thought a Alpha (or beta ...or something) had been scheduled to open up for some people in the summer or something. 

     

    I am curious because I thought the game sounded and looked pretty awesome- But after THAT THREAD I decided to hold off on kickstarter until I saw something more concrete- That feels like a LONG time ago and I am pretty much still without a game and was hoping for some news,

    Thanks for your interest! We are alive and well. As far as the comments about our website we hired some one to create the word press theme. I am a web developer as well as a Programmer. I volunteer as the Webmaster for my Church though the site is far from finished. And I've done some local Contract work on web sites before joining GM. Personally I just don't have the time to work on the website as well as the game. I've been brought on as the Team Lead / Lead Programmer and that's where my priority is until we are ready to start work on integrating the Game with our website. 

     

    As far as a Update on our progress we are closer then ever to a Alpha Release. We will be taking things one step at a time and collecting data on the Performance of our Zone Server software as we gradually bring each zone online so we can get an idea on how much hardware we will need at launch.
