Yeah, that seems like a great way to get quality programmers to come and work for you.

The bulk of the money raised via large kickstarter software projects is obviously going to be used on paying salaries for the large teams involved, for the several years the project has no other income.

You running a small business is in no way relevant to a massive software project, with hundreds of people involved.

People do not understand I am NOT an investor.

I am not loaning money to pay living expenses while " volunteer " devs work or don't work create or don't create.

I made a CONTRACT with a company to use the capital I am GIVING them for game development.

When they choose to STEAL that money to pay their medical bills or buy their groceries, they are breaking the good faith of our contract.

Sorry but I understand this whole entitled generation thinks they are entitled to do whatever the hell they want and take whatever the hell they want whenever the hell they want it, but that is NOT the way it works in business, NOT the way it works in the real world, and sure as hell NOT how it works when money is involved.

Being paid a wage is not stealing.

If you think programmers should be working free of charge for years at a time, then you have a very peculiar view on how business works. If you hire people to do some work for you then they need to paid, in any business.

If you donated money thinking it wasn't going to be used paying salaries at some point....well, I'm baffled. Truly.

There was a time when I was a small business owner,  EVERY penny of company fiance, and every cent of profit went directly back into the business. Product, distribution, advertising, and taxes.

For 4 years I did not take a salary, my wife and I lived off my savings that any business class tells you to have before launching a new business, and my wife's earnings.

A small startup software project should NEVER touch a single penny of donated money for personal use.

If they do that is fraud and is a crime. PERIOD!

Sorry if that means working PT jobs, or having your spouse pay the bills, sorry if its tough but that is what it means to be an entrepreneur.

If they do not like it then they need to go get a 9-5 corporate job and stop using kickstarter to steal money.

Not getting paid for working for YOUR company is ok, not getting paid for working for someone else, that is really weird thinking. Or do you think that the 200 devs will all have equal shares of the company ?

Not hard to see where you got this idea, but it remains to be seen how true it will be. The pledge ships could very well all be outdated within a months playtime. Even the most expensive ones.
