Long time CoX player, never played CO. Some questions..

I really enjoyed CoX for many years.  I started playing during closed beta and pretty much until its ultimate shutdown.  That said, how similar is CO to CoX?  I know its a superhero MMO, so it has that in common.  So I have a few questions.

1.  Having watched some videos, the combat looks faster and more action based then CoX was.  Is that the case?

2.  How are missions handled?  One of the things I LOVED about CoX was teaming up with friends and running through missions together as well as TFs.  Is this the case?

3. Speaking of missions and TFs.  I see that classes are a bit blurred because of the ability to pick any power basically.  Is there still a team setup where you have a tank, dps and support?  Or do teams work differently?

4.  Lastly, assuming there are missions and TFs, is there a group finder?

Thanks in advance.

I can't answer your question but you probably need to say why you liked CoX to give you an answer. I personally thought CoX was one of the worst games I've ever played and I never understand why some people enjoyed it so much, the only fun part of the entire game was making your character, when a game peaks at 5 minutes in that is a bad thing. The two games are really nothing alike so trying to compare them is difficult without a real perspective about what you want in a game.

It was a nice game with great and funny mechanics :)

OP, apologies if I won't be spot-on, lately I just play the events in CO so I'm not fully up-to-date...

    1) not much, but has some truth on both cases. It's a bit more action-y and maybe even a bit easier than CoH was.

    2) you can do missions in a group, though without exemplaring/sidekicking (I mean I think. I never saw it in game). As for TFs, the missions are more like in other regular games. There are story archs, there are open missions as well, but I don't think there's something similar to TFs.

    3) It's the same, there are tanks/healers/damage dealers, just with much more options. If you're Gold, you can Freeform as much as you want (maybe the best part in CO). If you're Silver, you can only pick from the Archetypes, so in that case it's mostly like picking a class with a defined role, like in other games.

    4) Sort of, it has the queue system like the other two Cryptic games. You either team up with your buddies and the queue putting your group in action, or you queue up and the game team you up with others who wants to do the same as you.
