I don't think that sandbox people are ever happy, are they? They're like the "More Cowbell" guys of the MMO universe. "I've got a fever, and the only cure is MORE SANDBOX!"

Story is the one thing I figured they could nail. While it's not made by Bethesda, I'm thinking that there will be some of those fun Bethesda "Easter Eggs" built in too, like floating heads, falling through mountains, etc.

seems the PvP crowd is still very much in doubt.

Unless it's like DAOC, then it will be good!

It will be the type of MMO that I play for a few months out of the year, at most.  The problem is that unless you're really interested in PVP, there's only so much for you to do at end-game.  It's like GW2 in that way.

    You make me like charity

Ain't that the truth. No matter what's presented to them, it's never enough.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with TESO, but I'm still a bit curious about PvE longevity in terms of end game content. I know the general gist of it, but I'd like Zeni to give a few more details and some ideas of what else we might expect and when we could realistically expect it.

Considering how little they've talked about endgame other than PVP, yeah.  We are only months away from launch, after all.

Sandbox people have been ignored for almost a decade. Don't confuse unhappy with impossible to please when it's the teenybopper that's been exclusively catered to.

As a beta tester with the NDA still intact I won't comment much except to say I'm happy, going to play, and seriously hoping for a Collector's Edition and a lifetime sub option.  Not saying either will exist, but I hope.

Will gladly defend my position (not that I need to) as soon as the NDA is gone and I'm allowed to say more.

All the features I love in SKYRIM are in ESO so I'm definatly going to try it and play it for as long as possible.

    [mod edit]

Some skills you will have to go out into the world to unlock.  There is nothing to say that there won't be quest lines or zones where the end reward is a skill and there are books in game that increase your skill point levels from what I understand.  Every class has base skills and it's unlikely most of those signature skills will be accessible to other classes but that's not to say there won't be other skills in game that you will be able to learn if you want to go find them.

It's a compromise for sure from the single player games to the MMO.

There will be adventure zones, story progression, hard dungeons, gear progression, skill progression...  Ad a continuous flow of new heroic content...

Seems they fixed the mistakes Gw2 made...

and I'm fine with this. but you never have to look for books to add to Sorcery they are just there to be unlocked once you get high enough in sorcery. and this feels wrong for a elder scrolls game. I would much rather learn skills the was I did in the past 2 elder scrolls games. find the book or buy the book, and if I meet the mana needs I could cast it.

but maybe alter it a bit for ESO make it if you find the book, then meet the needs of the spell level / skill line.

"like you find a spell book good, then you can read it and add it to sorcery and when your are high enough in sorcery you can use that spell. etc"

I would be much more happy if it was this way. but it's not. it's just a small pet peeve of mine.

Such a basic part of character development left to chance?  I don't think this would work very well at all in an MMO setting.

No doubt among the PvP people (like me).

AvA is going to be massive.  It's almost 100% better than GW2 WvW.

Once you get used to the combat, the strategy you can employ is immense.

I did not like combat in NWN and Tera but I liked this game. For the person talking about books maybe they'll add the books in as a rare drop from end game/mid level bosses.

My only real gripe in the 4 levels I played was the graphics. I just kept thinking tera for some reason (although no one has agreed with me on this so I am not sure why)

Sandbox has been transformed into this holy grail that IMO is not real. We get a string of bad themepark games so sandbox must be the answer. Only sandbox games when empty are the most dead and useless games you can play as the players are the only thing keeping the game going forward. IMO Themeparks with 20-40% sandbox mixed in is the future. There is a reason most MMOs are not made in the likes of sandbox. They die faster. Granted there are exceptions too every rule. This whole, game will fail because its theme park IMO is really weak.

I played in the last beta.

The time I spent playing went quickly.

I wanted to play more and try other things.

My PC handled it on highest settings excellently.

I grew interested in the NPC's that I encountered.

I felt that there was enough of the zones to explore and made me want to see the world.

I'm generally happy with what I see and will definitely will be playing, but I really wish they would incorporate a little bit of random type of PVE events in the game that are not necessarily quest based to bring a little more soul into it.

    There Is Always Hope!

Good thing is that launch is soon, that's if they don't delay it. But with launch coming quickly they will definitely need testers to test all the high end content too so everyone will get a little more information about end game.

He isn't allowed, no one is.  NDA is not lifted dude, you know better than to bait him into answering that.

Also you guys, it is Realm vs. Realm, not World vs World or Alliance vs Alliance.... /sigh nooblets.

I thought its an excellent elder scrolls game, but not such a good mmo. I think they nailed the story and the rpg side of things and I found the combat very enjoyable, I think they nailed the aimed combat thing and active blocking which is hard in an mmo, but I didn't see much of the online in elder scrolls online....

Admittedly I didn't get very far in the weekend test but I would have expected to see more mmo features, reasons to group, social features, etc than I did.

Will still be buying it and playing it through....
