Sometimes I don’t know what is more fun. Speculating on upcoming games, brainstorming of what could make a great game, or actually playing new games. Speculating about upcoming games is always interesting. Unfortunately playing new games sometimes is anything but interesting… I’m looking at you Avatar Star, Daimonin, Crime Craft and others of your ilk. One recent discussion lead us to think about what current properties would make for interesting MMOs.

Masters of the Universe
I'm sorry, but it would be the perfect IP for a MMORPG. It would like combining Sci-Fi and Fantasy into one game, e.g., swords, shields, guns, missiles, ships, mounts, etc.
There was actually a funny thread that was made about it. I'll link the images:
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

1. Judge Dredd - I'm willing to let the creative minds try this one rather than say I want it like any of the movies or video games that have been released in the past. I liked the 16-bit video game back in the 90's and the Stallone movie has its moments. The reboot with Karl Urban was one of the best 3-D movies I've ever seen. Think what you will, but this property has potential.
2. The Legend of Zelda - Technically this is possible because the title isn't 'The Legend of Link'. I'd actually like to see Hyrule or outlying areas before or after Link did his thing and saved the land. Where did Link come from and who built all those temples, dungeons and abandoned palaces?
3. Firefly / Serenity - Yes, I know there's one already in the works but it's not being made like I was hoping it would be. Maybe someone will give it another go and try something different.
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Call me nostalgic or crazy. I'm willing to give it a whirl if it's made well.
5. The Terminator - The IP is already due for a reboot and there can be near endless waves of robots to destroy. It's perfect for an mmo. SOMEONE MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!
Yes, I've read a poem. Try not to faint.
NONE!
Game Companies need to start creating ORIGINAL IPs for their games.
Im tired of seeing perfectly good IPs ruined by trying to turn them into MMOs

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.
In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

No matter how cynical you become, its never enough to keep up - Lily Tomlin
Joe Dever's Lone Wolf is my most wanted MMO IP.
It's 30 years old this year and so far all we've had in game form is a some junk from the late 80s, a cancelled PS3/Xbox game, a cancelled fan-made MMO and a mediocre Androd/iOS game.
Harry Potter has the same issue that most fiction IPs have in that the universe exists to tell the story of one character. Not sure how well the game would work in a post Voldemort world, where nothing big was happening.

Especially with hundreds or thousands of visitors to the universe trying to become the most important thing in it.

The Dark Tower might work, since the worlds in the story were built in a way that allowed for there to be many stories, we just didn't see them. I suppose many IPs are like that, but they don't seem to explore that territory at all.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

I'm not a "brony" or anything, but they do have a MMORPG movement. It actually looks really impressive for being a fan-made MMO. Looks just like the cartoon. Haha.

I would never watch the show by myself...like I would Star Wars or something.. However, I do watch it with my little daughter. It's actually pretty neat. lol
Small company started working on this but no idea what happened to it. I too believe this could be a great idea.
