They bought the voxel technology from another company (which name escapes me atm) and was written in C++.
The technology can be quote "integrated with existing engines" which is essentially what they did, they pluged it into their forgelight engine also written in c++.

Most non-browser games are done in C++ although a few exceptions exist. I think WoW was mostly C, and was simply a modified Warcract 3 engine, for example.

Actually the story bricks guys are working with SOE rather than just selling the software I guess. Psychochild is pretty boss! He and Q bought the rights to Meridian 59 from 3DO and relaunched it. Since then the original Kirmsey brothers who created the game bought it back and run it for free(completely).
I am a developer, using Visual Studio. Lots of charts and graphs kind of things. The only thing I can tell you for sure is that they are not using Visual Studio. :-)
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

as said before, every propper game usualy is coded in a c derivat... eg c, c++ or c# (usualy the 2nd)
EQN runs on the forgelight engine (which is their own development, originally used in PS2).
