Hardcore Ruleset

I do like the sound of some of the ideas they ahve come up with for this I was a big darkfall player so I like open world ffa pvp games.. I think this might be the right mix to get more than just the hardcore pvp players on this server.

It's good that this might be an option for some players. I especially like this:

 

Please refrain from any discussion in this topic unless it is about the hardcore server. If you have no interest in the ruleset that is fine, but we don't need a bunch of posts telling everyone that.

well yeah thats true they dont need people crying in that thread about it being too hardcore.. They will have the standard ruleset servers if thats what they want

only thing is worring me currently is the combat..

 

the rulesset is awesome.. full loot, firendly fire.

 

Hopefully the action mode will play and feel like shooter as they claimed

I cant see it feeling like a full on fps.. but who knows.. I actually dont mind it being tab target if the rest of the game is good and this ruleset seems pretty good to me as well as the rest of the game so far. Sure pure fps combat would have made it bloody amazing.. but i think if it turns out as good as it looks and sounds i can put up with it being tab target/hybrid fps hehe

i cant backup repop.. due to the fact of using creditcards with amazon :S

Just so you know they have stated that once the Kickstarter has finished they will carry on with the early adopter store.

They have stated the early adopter store will specifically allow Paypal

i honestly doubt that hardcore server will be very populated looking at the their forums, i think a lot of those hardcore peeps will be very disapointed rolling on that server.

Us hardcore players are used to not having millions of people playing..

 

Hell a lot of us played and enjoyed darkfall for years with only a few thousand people.. so nope that wont be an issue.

i think there are alot more players intrested in hardcore rulesset then he thinks.

Didn't think I liked hardcore type rulesets until I actually tried one (DFUW).  I think people would be surprised what they may like if they try it.  Obviously the world would have to be quite large for hardcore rules to work, for me at least.  Moments of peace are nice as well.

I think the hardcore players have waited so long, and been disappointed so many times that they sit silently watching. Waiting for the  one from the prophecy to come and save them.

So true. People like to point out that the non-ow pvp crowd has so many more people. In reality a huge amount of those people have never honestly tried such a game - and certainly not a high quality one!



and yes, moments of peace are quite nice. I like having the danger of ow pvp to make the moments of peace mean something.

But you can't have your own hardcore rule set PvP server because I don't like it !!!!

This was looking interesting I'm a big fan of this type of rule set but Free for all Full Loot PvP in a F2P with a cash shop.......

Every time you die it cost you 5 bucks?

Do a little bit of research please. The cash shop their propose is of the guild wars 2 verity. There will not be p2w items, nor will you have to replace cosmetic gear you buy from the cash shop when you die. The first set of items that will be available are skins for everything: armor, pets, weapons, vehicles etc and convenience items such as EXP boosters. 

Looking at their forum, 25% of the forum community is interested in the hardcore rule set exclusively and many people have, since the announcement of the rule set, are at least willing to try out the hardcore server (why not it doesn't cost them anything). I honestly believe the sever will reach critical mass and it will be politics and power that attract the "carebears" to the hardcore server (same people that liked controlling the market in EvE).

I posted this in another thread, but am I the only one who prefers a hybrid of normal and hardcore.  That is, FFA and full loot in contested areas and no unflagged PvP in small "safe" areas?
