In the unlikely event that i buy this game, then i'd choose a Breton, as thats the race i normally play in TES games, which alliance their in would be largely irrelevant, as the campaigns in TESO are not something i have any interest in.
Daggerfall for me, I like the environment and story/quests the most. Has cool NPC characters like the thief with the voice actor from cowboy bebop. And lots of werewolves! Their armor style is also my favorite so far.
I initially wanted to go Ebonheart but the amount of people already joining it and the whole setup for the faction itself . . . I don't know, it gives off a Horde vibe for me. Been through one Horde already.
Have a few friends that plan on joining the Dominion so that's where I'll end up, most likely.
I just feel kinda lost, honestly. I've always played an Imperial and now? Now I just want my damn sweet roll . . .
You know what's fun about chaos? I do, but I won't tell.
Never played that game but will be nice to see the other areas like Skyrim in max level glory later on.
I'm hoping our armies of physical walls (orcs, bretons, redguards) will crush the Aldmeri lines. Mostly stereotypical paper thin archers and mages wouldnt surprise me
Would be awesome if it leads to situations where the Aldmeri find they are weaker in open field warfare as a whole so they stick to ambushes or raining down ranged attacks from their walls. Faction differences would be good.
If I ever play this (aka if the developers make the few changes that will make me play), I'll go Ebonheart.
I'm not surprised it's the majority's choice either - the races for the two other pacts are either not varied enough or just poor.
This game is going to have interesting balance issues for its faction PvP parts =P
Whatever, you are going to play. That is the fun part, the unbalance of a new game. It takes years to balance 3 factions with so many skills and abilities.
"The King and the Pawn return to the same box at the end of the game"
Originally posted by vazeroth personally i will be going the ebonheart faction mainly because i want to be a argonian. I think players will have there own favourites from previous elder scrolls games.
I think Daggerfall Covenant has some potential, the races are attractive and quite varied too. They have orcs too, which will attract some players.
But Aldemeri? You can be elf, elf or giant kitty?
I have serious doubts able realm balance - and this poll confirms it so far.
Well, I suppose it's a taste thing.
I put "Ebonheart Pact" as I like the dark elves of morrowind. Having said that, a friend of mine indicated he might play but wanted to play "the kitty". In which case my second choice race is a High elf.
However, looking at the current results it seems that is last place. Which is sort of funny as I thought that daggerfall covenant would be in last place. It just seems so "boring" to me.
But apparently not to others.

Lol, I thought I bit like that too. Try them out, it's not bad at all. Yeah the Skyrim-Era Thalmor left a bad taste. But it's a bit like with Nazi-Germany; just because Germany was bad back then, doesn't mean it is always in any other period of time. Same with the AD.

I'm stuck with Ebonheart because I will be playing an Argonian (love their lore). Sadly that faction makes the least sense. I guess it is only due to the fact the other 2 factions are more likely and even have a bit of a history (past and future) of political alignment. Well same can be said I guess for Ebonheart but they some brutal history together.
I honestly can't figure out how Dark Elves and Argonians won't be trying to kill each other at every free moment. And not like Dark Elves are fond of Nord or ever will be. Thankfully they are the faction who at least prophesied the actual main calamity that is the primary story of this game. Can make me think the Ebonheart Pact at least recognizes they have to stand up to this thing to survive ... so they can later go kill each other again. The other factions are basically just selfish. Not that that's unusual. We're talking Bretons and Altmer here.
i always play as a nord in my past elderscrolls game, but i'm positif that the ebonheart will be the most populated faction, so it's aldmeri for me. however, this faction business will really limit player choice, especially if they are in a guild or have a lot of friends.
I personally don't understand the infatuation with the Ebonheart Pact. I mean, is Skyrim and Nords really the only things driving that ship?
As someone that never played Skyrim, the Pact does remind me a bit of Midgard ;P
For me it's Dark Elves. In any game that features DE's I always play one. Every since R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt novels I have always loved the appeal and lore or Dark Elf bad assery. SO I'll definitely be playing Ebonheart.

I dunno the latest poll I saw has it pretty even

That's close to 1k people, I don't expect it to be quite as even as it is there but I don't think it will be as uneven as I used to think
