I just wanted to let anyone that doesn't already know about Planets Explorers that they just released new up to date Demos for PC, Mac and Linux! This is a great Voxel based game that uses the Marching Cubes logarithms to generate some pretty realistic landscapes. They are up to Alpha .72 at the moment and the game is more stable and playable than most released games. Now there is an up to date Demo for all 3 platforms so you can try it out before you invest in this great game.
As for the game itself think Minecraft without the blocks and a Story Mode that actually has you playing the part of an ill fated colony expedition to the planet Maria. Left with just your wits and a few simple provisions it's up to you to forage whatever you need to reunite with the other colonists and build a complete colony! You can also through the Creator design your own Swords,Shields, Guns, Vehicles and VTOLS with more types added with almost every major Alpha release! To buy in it's only $22 and soon with Alpha .75 it will even be available through Steam Early Access. Check it out... You won't be disappointed!

Oh... Just to let people know the limitations of the Demo version. You can play in only Build Mode and Story Mode. Build Mode you get tons of everything and you can just go nuts building stuff and the Demo Story Mode lets you play through the Grasslands Biome Quests (Aprox. 3-5 hours of straight questing).
The actual game lets you proceed through the Desert Biome at this point and also has Adventure and Multiplayer Modes. I won't fool you either as this is a game in Alpha so expect some bugs even in the Demo but like I said before it's surprisingly stable for a game in Alpha. This guy decided to take a different route than just making Minecraft Clone #387. This game truly is unique in every way from Minecraft and only the basic principals of resource gathering is the same. It really is something to keep an eye on. Have fun!
