Worst MMO you ever played?

What was the most shamelessly bug filled or just incredibly boring MMO you ever played? Something you uninstalled in less than 2 hours?

For me it was MapleStory. I made a char, walked left, walked right, killed some green blob thing and said to myself "So this is what Super Nintendo MMO would've felt like"

I remember uninstalling Wurm Online pretty quickly. In 5 minutes I saw it was not going to be a game for me.

Toss up between World of Warcraft and Age of Conan. Never put down an MMO faster than with those two.

Not just boring and uninventive, but INSULTINGLY shallow, like they were aimed at preteens with an IQ matching their age.

It's a photo finish between Ryzom and Wizardry.

Wizardry and Neverwinter... with DCUO getting a dishonorable mention.

Neverwinter and Dragon's Prophet hold my personal record for quickest uninstalls.  Horrible games.

    Neverwinter and WoW.

    {Has to trick you into thinking it's a decent game for a while until you finally realize it actually isn't very good and you wasted a bunch of time. Both those games did that to me. Far worse than a crap game I immediately know is crap and uninstall after 10 minutes.}

SWG pre-everything was probably the buggiest MMO I ever played, but not the worst.  The worst for me is RYL:Path of the Emperor followed closely by Earth and Beyond.

Quirhid and FelixMajor hit upon two of mine. Arrevan would another. And, EverEmber (these are all games I uninstalled inside of an hour). Recently I have played a lot of bad MMO's/MMORPG's.

It would be really hard for me to choose an absolute worst. As, I tend to try and remove them from memory as well as my hard drive. And, whenever I find a truly bad game - something that is worm wooded with bugs, crashes constantly, that you even have a hard time getting going, and that is so generic it is mentally painful, with obvious little to know thought into how anything was put together- I try to find a good one quickly to overwrite the memory of it (even if I don't end up making it one of my games...just something to get the bad taste out of my mouth).

oh man for me it was Rift.

and i dont even know if its a bad game or not, I just couldnt even get myself to talk to the first NPC with the thing above his head. i logged in made my character got into the world and the first thing i saw was that " first npc " and i just felt like....here we go again.....

    uninstall.

Can't remember. It kept putting me to sleep after half an hour of 'play'.

Amusingly enough for me it was Lord of  the Rings Online.  I was heavy invested in EVE when it came out and only tried it because a few of my corp mates were playing it.  I'm not even sure I lasted two hours.  It was just so... claustrophobic compared to the epic freedom of choice in EVE.

SWTOR by far... absolutely worst game I have ever played.

I would rather be robbed at gunpoint and actually shot and be put on life support and be in ICU for months costing me a couple hundred thousand dollars before I would rather play that game.

Horizons: Empire of Istaria - It was just awful bad at release. Then I actually went and bought a sub about five or six months later because, hey everything deserves a second chance. It was still fucking awful.

Vanguard: Saga of Heroes almost made it to first. It was such a bad launch, such a bad optimized game that I uninstalled after just two hours of trying to play it.

And because of my retry experience with Horizons (above) I didnt even want to take the chance of wasting $15 to give it another chance.

Ive played a lot of MMO's I didnt like, and that sucked, and so on. But those two were The Worst MMO's Ive ever played. To where I was actually pissed about wasting my money.

WOW. Because it killed the MMO genre in one foul swoop.

Definitely true.  Terrible game, but I must say the clones are even worse.

    Star Wars Galaxies

Released when it was still in alpha stage or so it seemed.  No quests.  No itemization or loot.  All you could do was terminal missions.  NPC's had no pathing.

Upon logging into the game for the first time I heard what sounded like a massive battle vs godzilla.  I walked around the corner to see all these players shooting a big Fambaa that was stuck in world geometry.  You could do this anywhere and level a profession to master in a few hours.

PVP at the beginning was laughable.  Nobody had armor so everyone got one shot.  This evolved into clone zerglings.  You'd shoot someone down, they'd rush back from the clone center and shoot you... vice versa.

The many combat revamps... if you played you know about these.  They'd make major changes to professions.  In the end they removed almost all of them.

Their initial introduction of Jedi...  having to master a ton of the 20+ professions to unlock the special one.... and after the final combat revamp they make jedi a starting class lol.  Total insult to anyone who grinded them.

    SWTOR.

I even went into it with low expectations and it still shattered those low expectations with how bad it was. By far the worst gaming experience I have ever been a part of.

Guild Wars 2, absolutely the worst MMO I ever wasted money on.  I probably didn't put in more than 10 hours before I couldn't stomach that lame pile of trash.

You know I almost always forget about this game.  I decided one day when I was bored to buy this game.  I never logged off a game faster.

To make things worse I gave it a second chance and hated the game even more the second go around.

Neverwinter is a game I never liked and could tell it wasn't for me almost right away. Some friends wanted to play so I stuck with it till about lvl 20. It stands out  the most as an mmo I didn't like. I think it has just about everything I don't like in an mmo

no real trinity while lvling ( you don't need a tank till end game )

    Heavy instancing

    useless crafting

Way to easy. You just run into any combat and spam whatever attack, it didn't matter.

I've been told things changed at end game, but I think if you make a face roll journey, what's the point in getting to the end.

    Vanguard

I tried to take 2 steps but couldn't. Uninstalled and never played again.
  • VladamyreVladamyre Member UncommonPosts: 223
Darkfall, 15 minutes into a free trial I decided to just uninstall it. The next bad mmo was The Secret World. Played that for less then 2 hours before it was uninstalled. [mod edit]

TSW is definitely on my worst list too.

Now I cannot decide between SWTOR, GW2 and TSW
